Just noticed there that a new Certa petrol station is opening in Liffey Valley at the B&Q/Tesco roundabout. Will be operating 24/7

I hope it will pay back for the owners, but somehow I doubt it unless they do well on the retail end. In a bit over 20 years time there will no longer be any petrol or diesel cars on the road, except a handful of over 40 year old classic cars that are exempt

That will be handy to go to when I do a Tesco Click and Collect (as long as they have pay at pump).

Club card points on petrol as well.

Presumably Tesco had permission for one with their new store and it never got built due to Tesco backing away from it.

They would want to be doing a cheap build for the reasons unkel mentioned - Certa stations don't have the other money making things that will survive - or thrive with charging times - there being a sharp reduction in combustion cars (shops, basically).

Looks like they will have EV charging,a car wash facility & HVO (100% renewable diesel replacement) Surely a positive- no pleasing some people!!

havent tesco stopped doing petrol stations i Ireland? i think the one in Maynooth was also converted to Certa but I'm not 100% sure

Yes, they sold the lot to DCC who rebranded them, plus their automated GreatGas stations and a lot of their oil delivery, to Certa

Nearly always yeah. Manufacturer will advise if not normally.

This isn't like the older vegetable oil 'diesel' that could only run on low pressure injection diesels (pre 00s)
