I’m so glad we got to go abroad this summer. First time since 2016. Ferry to France for two weeks. I feel like we had a holiday.

No better place than ireland when the sun shines but the darned unpredictability of it…

Athenry and Dunsany have now seen their wettest Julys on record after yesterday's soft day. Phoenix Park is also likely seeing its wettest July since 1936 and this is very significant as the station is one of the country's longest running with rainfall data back to the 1830s.

A much better day than expected in North Kildare. Rain cleared sooner than predicted and it has warmed up a bit. Grey and overcast, but it's dry!

Good grief I'm not sure how much more the ground can take.

    Showers today and warm. Humid.

Sitting on my sun lounger in Lucan for the first time in at least a month. Blue skies, dry, breezy. The housework can wait.

At last a bit of heat!

Now it is quite cloudy but we will take that, at least its dry.

I hope the cloud blows away in the strong breeze for ye in N Dublin. I haven't seen this in W Dublin in too long.

Early June for us I think.

I'm still sitting out in it now, avoiding cooking. Breeze has calmed a bit, and it feels very warm.

Clear skies for a tine in waterford, some cloud now. The mugginess started to set in earlier and can really feel it now. Bit of movement in the trees from the slight breath of air. Not going to be a pleasant night for sleeping

24.1c for me today in Cork. Believe it or not the hottest day of 2023 so far. Very muggy though.

Lovely day in cork as others have said, got up to about 23 degrees and was actually able to have a few drinks in the garden tonight!

First day of holiday in Brittany and had 26mm of relentless rain and 16 degrees. First time wearing jeans and a sweatshirt in months. Hopefully just a blip.

in the neighbouring county to cork it’s another damp overcast morning with a heavy drizzle falling. Yesterday evening was lovely when the sun came out and as others have said it was warm. Although it’s all relative I guess. If we were getting any kind of decent weather you wouldn’t notice yesterday but given what’s went before it was a nice interlude for a few hours. But seeing as it’s the weekend again I’m sure the weather gods will bestow no such pleasure on us.

The ECM ruling out any ridging around Sat 5th August

The GFS and it's 1 -2 day spell..

    GFS breaks down shortly after.

any attempt at ridging and it will naturally get flattened off by the Atlantic within 24 to 36 hours, the Atlantic is firing on all cylinders since June 20th and there is no let up in sight any time soon.

still on the search for a full dry day, yesterday we had drizzle showers till midday and then it brightened up and became warm. This morning was lovely and sunny and relatively dry and now the showers have arrived and we are turning very unsettled over the next 6 days.

Not a bad day in Cork, 18 degrees and partially sunny, breeze has picked up in the last few hours but mostly dry apart from a few brief light showers this morning. You’ll take whatever you can get after enduring a day like Weds.
