    Hi,

I'm wondering why different brands of red lentils show completely different nutritional values. According to the packaging Shamrock lentils per 100g contain over 300 calories while other brands show aorund 100 calories per 100g. Also nutrition apps show different values, nutriotionix and myfitnesspal say over 300 cals per 100g while carbmanager says 100cals per 100g.

How can such a simple and basic food be contian such different macros based on the brand or nutrition app?

    TIA

The products don't have different macros. You simply didn't read the labels very well.

The top one says as consumed. ie cooked. The bottom on says dry weight.

Soudns about right that a 40g dry serves would increased in weight to 125g or so once boiled. The macros are the same.
