Switching from HomeSecure to self-monitored

Has anyone experience in cancelling their HomeSecure contract and switching to self-monitored, using the existing sensors & Ajax app? Reading different things on here from "It works fine - go for it" to "No one will service an ex-Homesecure alarm" or even "The app won't work right". Thanks for any advice/alternatives!

You may need to replace the panel to get app control unless you can get home secure to release the unit from the cloud.
Also, make sure all the barcodes are on the sensors as you will need them to enroll them to the new system.
Ajax will not delete it for anyone bar home secure

Did you make the break and go unmonitored.
I'm thinking of doing likewise. Hard for me to justify the cost.

Has any other boards members has experiance of going unmonitored?
