There was a story last year that sky mobile were to launch in Ireland in 2023. Has anyone heard anything?

News articles from the time as well as a press release from skygroup are easily found with Google but no mention since.

Keenly awaiting its launch, very happy in general with VF network coverage but just find them a tad expensive. Since Sky MVNO will be using the VF network I’m keenly awaiting the launch to see if I can save a few euro. I’m bill pay but need data roaming so rules out An Post and Clear mobile.

Surely someone here knows someone involved in the launch? Seems odd how little detail is out there unless it’s been delayed.

It is indeed strange that the only info is all from the Mar 22 press release. Maybe they've shelved the idea?

Yes more that likely, broadband would be fine but very little interest BSB (other than sports it’s trash , barely get time to watch TV except weekends and even then it’s usually late so Netflix/Prime).

Will be august/ September time frame, tie it into a back to school Bb campaign. Switch everything to sky and save €€€€

I have Sky already with basically everything 4k, Sports/BT/Movies etc.

But broadband, mobile, Netflix etc all with other companies thinking when a Quad play offering is released I may move everything to Sky, luckily Virgin just launched FTTH in my estate so perhaps I will shift everything to them.

The only thing keeping me looking towards Sky is Sky F1 in 4K which I don't think Virgin have.

Vodafone talking about sky mobile customers here. I assume some people must be trialling the service by now.

An Post Mobile, Clear Mobile, and Sky Mobile customers will also be affected.

How interesting.

It is concerning as you'd drop to 3G in some rural environments and would have a data connection good enough to maintain music streaming. Dropping to 2G in those areas will be a step backwards

So other than Vodafone mentioned Sky Customers there’s been little or no word :( maybe whenever Apple release their new phones in September they might launch (wishful thinking).

On the apple products if Vodafone were to support the Apple Watch then I would stay but if sky launch with support for the watch I could very well jump ship.

With the way post mobile has become quite poor as an mvno on Vodafone network, I'd be sceptical of sky mobile.

Was thinking of moving to Post Mobile. In what way are they poor? Do they not have the same coverage as Vodafone?

Yes to coverage but they process their own data via Malta I think so it can be quite slow at times. I was with them for 2 years and got sick of it.

When I first joined in 2020, they were great and performed as expected but in the meantime eir improved dramatically whilst postmobile went backwards.

Does any other network provide the same consistently strong coverage as Vodafone? With them currently on sim only 25pm, but need to upgrade and 60 or 8pm bill pay is just too expensive.

Have U checked other networks? I was always a vf person until U realised that eir/three networks are now very good in rural Ireland. Get a free 48 Sim to test coverage of all the three mvnos

I’m on this myself I think it’s an amazing deal. Everyone I know has switched to it, eir is also great in rural conditions aswell!

Yeah I’m putting my kid on iSaving e20 per month compared to VF

BB in since Wednesday (speed test consistently up around 500 mb)

Have Sky tv and broadband. Would be interesting to see the price of mobile if bundled with other Sky products. I have been on the Gomo 10 euro deal for the last 4 yeas and can't complain. It would want to be some offering to get me to move.
