I know several people who have gym work prescribed by their doctor; that's one cohort of people who do it for reasons other than simple enjoyment.

For most people a brisk walk will be enough to make them as fit as they need to be.

Like I don’t get it either I don’t care to go to a gym I’ve prob been like twice in my life and it isn’t for me.

That said I can understand why someone who enjoys exercise would like to. If you can afford it and it makes you happy I don’t see any reason not to 😅

Any grown ass adult that engages in the following activities:

    • tik-tok
    • follows any celebrity gossip
    • Comic Con
    • dubs themselves a "super fan" or still obsesses over the likes of Harry Potter. Grow up.
    • Love Island
    • gym selfies. Closely followed by a selfie in the exact same spot in their bedroom. All of them probably "too anxious" to actually socialise with people though.

    Some broader hobbies:

Lads souping up their cars. Surely being able to hear them boy-racing in the middle of the night is the equivalent of robbing a bank and walking straight into a garda station after?

    Bird-watching. Why?

The aforementioned drag queen circuit. Are they purposely meant to be untalented?

The Irish Country and Western scene. Low-brow and full of dry shites. The actual country and western scene wouldn't be regarded as the doyen of all musical genres, yet it's loved over here.

People who can't go a weekend without going to the pub.

Weather nerds. Whoever actually wants the inconvenience of heavy snow needs their heads examined.

Following/watching darts. People are absolutely mad into it and I literally cannot get my head around it at all. Playing darts, yep, fine, I enjoy a game myself. But paying money to watch a bunch of fat blokes in polyester shirts play??? Nope. Major head-scratcher for me.

    ONNNNNNEEEEE HUNDRED AND EEEEEEEEIGHTYYYYYY

it is funny how all pro dart players dress almost identically including, but not limited to, the shirts & gold chains/bracelets/watches

    Birds are fascinating to watch.

I agree they’re such interesting little characters.

I tend to find myself out in the garden with a coffee just admiring them as they cut about their day. Always wonder to myself what is going through their minds as they hop, scurry or fly about the yard.

Would love a parrot or something like that cos they’re so intelligent but they’re a lot of work and time I don’t have but I’m still tempted to go with a cockatiel or budgie or something.

My favourite animal is a toss up between a Fox & a bird tbh. 😂 no particular bird species but I’m always fascinated by the parrot family especially the African Grey & the Cockatoo. The fact those two are related to each other just sends me

Same here - birds and foxes, can't explain why. And about the African grey, they are soo smart and silly, I love them. Watched a video the other day of one telling the cat to shut up, it was hilarious.

I’d recommend a cockatiel, incredible mimics and entertaining little characters

There is a delightful little robin here. A plucky wee bird given all my cats! He knows when they are all safe inside and flutters down to plead FEED ME PLEASE.... Brightens and warms the darkest, coldest of days.. He knows how to keep safe! LOOK AT ME! KING OF THE CASTLE! Right at the very top.

Model railways... hours in the attic painting little houses and glueing fuzzy little trees to a bit of hardboard and standing there on your own watching the same little train with go round and round in the same figure eight... bonkers

Ah no, I love models and model railways (as further detail for the models).

Am glad you clarified the plane spotting, I would guess you would spot a Stanley No 4 a mile away! :)

they're lovely but the aerodynamics suck!

Oh I definitely agree about the running.

Can't understand the obsession with it at all.

What's even worse is the ones who think they are so superior and nearly introduce themselves as a runner,' I have run 5 marathons' when you meet them, give me a break.

Then down the road they are all banjexed with hip and knee replacements at a very young age, how can that be good for you?

Now I'm not against fitness, I adore walking and being out in nature but I don't go around thinking I'm amazing because I do a bit of walking🙄

By the way I adore bird watching( so some of you will hate me😁), they are just facisinating, nothing like watching a buzzard soaring in the sky on a sunny day.

The giving a toss from adults about the Irish football team changing their jersey or emblem. I’m a fan but I care not about those things since I was about 12
