That's an horrific call from Barnes.

He looked for any reason not to give a red because he didn't want a classic 'ruined'.

    Red all day

Barnes hates Ireland there's no other reason that's not red.

My heart certainly sinks when I hear he's in charge, kinda makes it 15 v 16.

An awful lot of wasted opportunities unfortunately. Thought Murray should have passed there.

Certainly not Barnes worst game but he needs to be questioned on the yellow/red card debacle especially where all those around him were in complete agreement.

I don't go with the conspiracy he is looking to s&%#w over Ireland (we look at Irish came more closely then other game I say) he can be good but when bad

This won't end his career. World rugby/6 nation officials need to as question and if he slated for other games this competition should be stepped down

The injuries will add risk to our chances against England and Scotland. Beirne looks in bad shape. Sexton gone now too.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Nice try and bonus point for Ireland. They've been made work for it.

Brilliant by Doris. The French constantly off side but no penalty.

Gutsy win from a super squad. And we left a few tries behind us but so did France. Good to see French panting at the end. Dupont is a different class.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Very noticeable that we were not beasted in the physical battle either

That's both South Africa and France we've now gone toe to toe with physically and have come out on top

Barnes has an aversion to letting teams get too far ahead if he can help it. It's like he wants to enjoy the game he's refereeing.

    Great win

Can we look at booking Phoenix Park in Autumn ?? One game at a time

    Farewells biggest win as manager.

Today we actually out Franced France in every way shape and form on the field of play*.

Physically we weren't beaten down or overpowered; emotionally we led and set the pace; we counterattacked and ran at them from open play; we didn't lose ground at scrums; were not undone by replacements or injury and we didn't get coiled into acts of off the ball thuggery and violence.

We literally played and won at their own game, and Boy was it good.

*Well except for us not knowing what Ireland will turn up bit.
