Peter Wright is way outside qualifying for the Players Championship finals too. Did he skip a load of them this year? Aspinall outside too

  • Registered Users Posts: 659 ✭✭✭US3

Peter has just been rubbish all year. Surprised to see Aspinal outside it think he's 5 on the Order of merit

World championship race, spotted this on thedarts forum. Poster predicting 24K as the likely cut off. Slevin, Lennon, WOC and Mansell should make it if so. But all will want a few more grand in prize money to be safe.

Wins today for Keane Barry and WOC. Slevin and Mansell both first round exits though

Slevin and Mansell likely to be on or below cutoff for players finals after today is finished

Lennon loses to Kim Hybrechts round 1. John O Shea won his first round match 6-4

Keane Barry and WOC both win their second round games

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Barry wins 6-5 and WOC loses 6-5 in last 32 stage

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Jose De Sousa beats Barry 6-3 in the last 16 stage

Richie Edhouse having quite the day, into the last . Has probably secured his players finals spot and is now in the Top 32 pro tour spots for the worlds

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

John O Shea and Dylan Slevin both beaten round 1. Slevin 6-5 and had darts twice to win the match. Mickey Mansell likewise loses 6-5 and had a dart to win

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

WOC only Irish player past first round so far. Lennon beaten 6-1, Keane Barry yet to play

Keane Barry out round 1. Slevin and Mansell now both outside the players championship finals spots.

WOC into L32 with a 6-0 whitewash of Madars Razma

Radek Szaganski wins the tour championship today. Think he's based in Ireland

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Keane Barry throwing away a 5-2 lead here and 5 darts for the match

    And loses 6-5

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Mickey Mansell and Steve Lennon both win first round games

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Dylan Slevin gets a vital win. O Shea and WOC both out first round

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Only Mansell survives to round 3 from the Irish today. Should secure his place at the world's and will greatly help his hopes of a players final place. Slevin just outside those players finals spots

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

challenge tour OoM ahead of final event tomorrow. John Henderson in a decent place to take the second place behind van peer. But any sort of early exit would open things right up

  • Registered Users Posts: 37,773 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Didn't he join the Senior darts

So wouldn't he be ineligible for the PDC Worlds ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    No. Not ineligible.

He lost in an early round today so has to hope now none of bates, boulton or Crabtree make the final in order to secure his place at the world's and a two year tour card

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Owen bates comes from 4-1 down to win his semi final 5-4 and gets the 2nd world championship spot and tour card via the challenge tour OoM

Last 2 Pro Tour events of the season are on today and tomorrow, Friday then has the floor qualifier for the Grand Slam of Darts

Dylan Slevin (68th), Keane Barry (77th) and John O Shea (108th) are all outside the top 64 of this years Pro Tour OoM which is the cut off for a place in the Players Championship finals.

Steve Lennon is 3 spots off a tour card (assuming he makes the players and worlds, which seems likely) so could really do with a good run in one of these events and/or qualifying for the grand slam.

John O Shea in all sorts of bother for retaining his card unless he qualifies for the players, GSOD or Worlds and has a good run in one of them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Dylan Slevin wins his first round match. WOC also won his, and 5-0

John O Shea however lost, he led 3-0 but end up losing 6-3. Others still to play

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,246 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Keane Barry and Mickey Mansell have both lost.

Barry needs a good run tomorrow to qualify for the Players Championships. It has been a disappointing year for him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,360 ✭✭✭roosterman71

Slevin out in round 2. He's £250 off a players championship place. Still hope for him tomorrow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Slevin and WOC both out in round 2. Means Slevin will probably need 3 wins tomorrow to be sure of a players championship finals place

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Final Pro Tour event of the year begins at 1pm. Requirements for a few of the Irish lads.

    To qualify for Players Championship

Dylan Slevin - at a minimum needs a L64 to have a chance, but realistically only a L32 will be enough, and even that wont be certain

Keane Barry - at minimum needs a SF to have a chance, but even this may not be enough

John O Shea - needs to win the event to qualify.

    World Championship.

Slevin, Mansell, Lennon and WOC all have probably done enough to qualify and sit grouped between 18th and 22nd on the pro tour OoM qualifying table for the event. Even if John O Shea wins the event he wont have done enough to qualify

    Tour Card

Lennon sits 68th in the table (including min prize money from Players and Worlds) and is 6 grand off the top 64. A good run would seriously help his hopes

O Shea sits 73rd in the table and is about 20 grand off the top 64. He is in bother as is unlikely to qualify for players, can only qualify for worlds via tour card holder qualifier.

Both Lennon and O Shea will be really hoping to bag one of the 8 GSOD spots in the tour card qualifier tomorrow, would help their tour card cause no end

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,498 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Steve Lennon comes back from 4-1 down to win his first round match 6-4. Mickey Mansell also through

They've qualified for the players championships now anyway.

Ricky Evans and Beaton both won in round 1. Huge pressure on the likes of Slevin now to get to round 3 or later to have any realistic hope. barry looks out of the reckoning
