    The Russian modules supply the guidance, propulsion and life support. The American sector has had awful problems with ammonia leaks.

    Gemini wasn't a stepping stone. It was a parallel program to train astronauts without having to wait for Apollo. There was little technology transfer. It was abandoned as quickly as Mercury, Apollo and Saturn were once the program was over.

    Skylab would have lasted a lot longer if the US hadn't abandoned manned flight capabilities. The irony is that the US Air Force who insisted that the Shuttle be big enough to take their large Spy Satellites continued to use the Titan II and later models from 1962 to 2005. That's the one that Gemini used. It's also the one that could have launched Dyna-Soar or they could have used Saturn I. Reusable spaceplanes in the early 1960's but luckily NASA stepped in to prevent that.

    all the blue writing, thats nasa, sweet fa from the russians, and even less from europe, so maybe 90% is nasa

    sorry Gemini was there to develop techniques to support the apollo project, very much a stepping stone, thats why it ended, of course there was tech carried overe

    they didn't give up manned spaceflight, where are you getting that from, the shuttle was curtailed, but years later
