Ammunition limits being reduced?

    Hi,

Are people noticing that the Gardai appear to be reducing the amount of ammunition permitted, on licence renewals (without discussion or reason) ?

While I can make a fair guess as to what's motivating this, it seems a bit unreasonable to be doing it without any discussion with the applicant, as to what's needed, or why it might be needed.

    Thanks,

    G.

Nope! And if it is you should be questioning it immediately and not letting it slide either! Give them an inch and they will take 2 miles on you!

    Yes and no.

Yes in that lads have posted about it here. A quick call generally sorted it out. In other words it seemed an error that was amended.

No, with renewals and no in it being done as a purposeful act to reduce the amount of ammo someone can hold.

Remember that while the guidelines state specific amounts depending on the activity the actual firearms act has no such limitations. IOW there is no legal limit.
