Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Evening Race again this weekend , and Sprint Race on Saturday and Quallifing for that on Friday evening .

If you are wondering what is still there to watch for.

Still up for grabs , P2 in the drivers Championship , all Glory is gone to Max so we are kinda left looking at the scraps he left on the floor

P4 is also up for grabs , big gap but still could be closed

    In the Constructors ,

Mercedes Can Catch Ferrari it is a 40 point gap but they would need to maximise everything this weekend and the final race to pull it off .

Mclaren are 7 points behind Apline . That is Tight and and a lot rests on Lando shoulders again in keeping that battle open.

Alfa Romeo V Aston is a 4 point Gap . Could go either way depending on which Aston Team shows up

    Haas V AphaTauri is a 1 point gap .

    Schedule

    Channel 4 Coverage:

Qualifying Highlights 11:10pm Saturday 12th Nov

    Race Highlights 10.55pm Sunday the 13 Nov & 7.25am Monday 14th Nov

Weather ...Saturday is looking wet at the moment

I'll just say it now rather than build up any hope of aonther person/team winning....

Max was well ahead of the rest his best drive ever, untouchable, best driver and champion ever. Now for 16 wins in a season.../s

Lewis is such a whinge bag on the radio he is done for finished should retire now, George is the vastly superior driver no wonder he beat him.../s

Ah well Ferrari, Ferrari'd who would of guessed.../s

Now people won't need to type it during after the race 🤣

I genuinely do hope I'm wrong but with the season the way it is I don't think so sadly.

Lando with suspected food poisoning so the super sub De Vries is standing by to take his place for Friday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,880 ✭✭✭✭klose

If lando isn't fit enough today and DeVries sits in and it's qualifying day what would be the scenario there??

That's an interesting question, can DeVries quality and then Lando Race? If so I would assume Lando starts from the back regardless of where DeVries qualifies. Or if DeVries qualifies does he have to race?

You can't change driver after qualifying. But on a sprint weekend I don't know if that means after the qualifying session, or after the sprint race.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,026 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

What I've seen is if De Vries does FP1 and qualifying, Lando can still race Saturday but he'd start P20

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,650 ✭✭✭rock22

It use to be that all drivers had to have a time less than 107% of the pole time. Although i know that has been set aside by stewards at times.

Not sure if that rule still applies though with the new qualification procdure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,905 ✭✭✭Joeface

F1 never has a straight answers. If you don't take part in Qualification then you can't race. But you maybe allowed start form the pit lane if the Stewarts approve and maybe the teams.(apline will agree to that 100%).

107% rules still applies somewhere in the mess of rules .

Add to that, I think earlier in the year Mick Schumacher missed one as he had damaged the chassis in FP3 and they were not going to have the car ready for qualification even though it would be ready for the race , they didn't proceed. (Could have that completely wrong ,if so sorry ...but 22 god damn races is to many)

Yeah the 107% rule is more about making sure everyone is fast enough to take parting the race without being a nuisance. Even in the 90s there were plenty of dri ers who weren't good. Pure pay drivers. The 107% rule was regularly used back then.

Now the slowest cars are only ever about 104% of the pole lap. Checked Lattifi in Mexico and he was just over 104% of Max's pole lap.

As long as a diver isn't very slow, the teams usually allow them to race even if they didn't set a lap in free practice and couldn't meet the 107% requirement.

Unless it's totally against the rules, Russell would be fine to start from the pitlane.

Is the qualifying highlights on ch4? Can't see it and I'm likely to miss it at 7 :/

Agreed. It should be quality over quantity. Far too many races these days. Much better if they brought it back to 16 or or 14 races a season.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

    Ferrari starting early this weekend

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,365 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

No I was wrong but Jesus what were Ferrari up to ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,009 ✭✭✭thefa

The problem is if it ever did go down to 14/16 races, they’d follow the money so you wouldn’t necessarily get better quality. Spa for example would be a contender for a cull.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,097 ✭✭✭✭Busi_Girl08

    Absolutely shocking from Ferrari.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,365 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Ricciardo gets in to Q2 but he’d have liked another lap.

So what radar were Ferrari looking at then ?

Sky just randomly cut to an ad break?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,009 ✭✭✭thefa

What was odd was that they split it between the drivers or maybe Sainz overruled the team while LeClerc went along with it. Perez got done over behind LeClerc.

Can't wait to hear toto call for Russell to have his lap deleted for causing the red flag

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,686 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

This is brilliant. And probably a bit of rain tomorrow. Haas are strong enough to at least keep KMag near the front.
