Other countries are rightly reducing the amount of money they give to countries who can't or won't get their act together but the clowns running this country are increasing it.

And yet they say there was no money in the budget to help the Irish people.

While altruism exists, a small number disguise self-interest in feigned altruism.

Ah, that's a first year undergrad philosophy question. Does altruism really exist? Can doing the right thing be altruistic if you get pleasure from doing the right thing? Are you just doing nit for your own pleasure?

Doesn't really matter in the end. Decent people do the right thing, assholes tear them down for doing the right ting. Simple enough

Well the financial scandals in some charities would be an example of what I refer to.

If Ed Gein's crimes came to light in today's society, there'd be some weirdos that would give him the benefit of doubt because he had a thing for cross-dressing.

The charity sector is full of people who are in it to look good and "caring" when in reality they are deeply unpleasant and selfish individuals themselves.

And for some its a gateway into electoral politics.

Probably not that controversial - whoever is elected president is absolutely irrelevant to 90% of people

    Mod:-

Thread is being derailed by a predictable tit-for-tat row over abortion.

This thread is NOT the appropriate forum for this as there are many existing threads over on Current Affairs on this topic already. Do not bring this topic up again on this thread or bans and closure of this thread will ensue.

    JK
