If you dont have children....you dont have a family....

Let me clarify...i wince when I hear a married couple with a couple of dogs refer to themselves as a "family"....

I actually dont see the point in being married if you dont have kids.....just stay boyfriend/girlfriend or even better stay single!

I have several close relatives in a childless marriage (by choice and not by choice) and they are sick of looking at each other....stuck in a dead end marriage!

  • I strongly there should be sandboxed well-regulated internationally funded children’s internet which provides safe educational content, with parental options, catering for children say up to age 12. Not really controversial, but I hear “it can’t be done” sort of responses. It won’t be done any time soon because Big Tech, to which governments are beholden, rely to an extent on children having access to the advertisement-rich internet services they provide.

If that was the case why have ring girls, grid girls etc been banned.

A brand new Ford Focus Titamium povver spec is €32,541.

By your crazy post you’d pick a used one up for €16kish. If you can find one for less than €25k, buy it. You’ll make an absolute killing.

Yes. Yes. You are not wrong, but my point is that is hardly a "controversial opinion", which after all is the purpose of this thread.

If you had said "Mick Wallace is an intellectual and moral Titan and Clare Daly is frequently the mental image accompanying a surreptitious tug", then you might have a point. But thinking they are a pair of "(insert epithet likely to incur a site infraction)" is probably quite a common opinion.

    Thought of another "controversial" opinion.

Katie Taylor is another miserable old cow. (Would hate to single out Catherine Corless for exclusivity)

Since the demise of the likes of PC world on boards in talk to, when someone asks on boards what kind of BUDGET electronic device can be bought, any recommendations are obviously based on 20% above what the asker states what they are prepared to pay for it.

Irish is a dead language that we waste far too much time and effort on: it should be a choice subject in schools, and the reason it’s not is because we know most people would bin it!

One of the major problems facing the planet is the ever growing population.

I’ve yet to meet a South African I didn’t like , maybe I just find that dutch influenced straight talking bluntness refreshing

Irish people talk a lot and have a lot of opinions but aren't to be taken seriously.

The lack of any kind of defense force being widely accepted thru the fudge of 'neutrality' being a case in point. FFS neutrality is not going to stop your ass getting bombed. And what kind of country are we to depend on the UK to guard our airspace? We don't even have proper radar systems. This is the 21st century where trouble finds you and there is nowhere to hide.

Also 80% of the gas we consume comes through the UK. All it takes is one bombed pipeline and we are totally fucked. We have no gas storage and huge dependency on foreign supplies because we let a fringe party block all further exploration and also gas storage investment. That's ridiculously stupid. It's not like we aren't still burning gas!

The same minister and department screwed up the power generation auctions so badly we are facing into intermittent supply problems in Winter. And he still has his job because most people dont seem to pay attention to this important stuff.

So yeah Ireland lovely country and all that but pretty much floating along on a wing and a prayer. If we are attacked or have energy problems we will have to beg the UK to help us.

The main reason for antibiotic resistance appearing is that they were fed to animals, not humans.

Ireland is seriously lacking when it comes to comedy and stand up comedians. A nation that is supposedly known for its wit and the likes of Jason Byrne and Allison Spittle can make a career here you know it's bad. About as funny as finding a lump on your testicle in the shower.

Nothing controversial here. We’ve always thought of ourselves funnier than we are.

A significant number of people in Ireland think they have some right to be able to buy a home where they want, and it’s someone else’s fault if they can’t. They would rather bitch about it than look for a solution, which is not going to be to elect SF.

Many Irish peoples attitude to our military ( even having a military) is like something a six year old might believe

“ sure who would attack us, aren’t we far too much craic “

a serious sovereign country should be able to attempt to defend itself
