Kasabian - Olympia

Really looking forward to this next Friday. Saw them twice in the 3Arena and they were excellent. Good varietty of tunes from the setlist too. Looking forward to hearing the dance part of Treat. They have so many good songs live - LSF, Fire, Vlad, Underdog etc.

The main thing looking forward is to see how this works in the Olympia. Kasabian gigs are generally quite "lively". Will be interesting to see if this is possible in the Olympia, with everyone squashed in together.

I watched some of the live 2022 performances on youtube. Doesn't have the same punch as when Tom was lead singer.

I've seen them before in the olympia it's a good venue for them. It'll be pretty wedged in the standing area.

Looking forward to this also. Saw them years ago in an old bingo hall in Galway just b4 they headlined Glastonbury was brilliant.

saw them at Knebworth during the summer, def missed Tom but still thought they were v good live

Saw them in the olympia 5 years ago I think. Brilliant gig.

They have Robert Harvey formerly of The Music on guitars for them now.

Looks like Vlad is dropped from the setlist in favour of one of the new ones - T.U.E. New one is a good tune in fairness. I love the way they have brought this trance type effect into some of the new songs.

I know someone always asks this question, and I know thew answer is almost always around 9pm - but I am going to ask it anyway. Does anyone know if this gig kicks off around 9, or is there any chance it could start earlier. I will be under a nit of time pressure to get there by 8.45. And I really don't want to miss any of it. Thanks

Drove from Cork and got the notification literally as we were checking into our hotel. Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe how I feel, especially after Royal Blood just straight up cancelled and didn't bother rescheduling after the singer got Covid earlier this year

What a joke. Not a bother on him in Belfast 24 hrs earlier. Was watchin some of the videos on youtube. Bit of a history of this crack on the Emerald Isle. Cancelled Belfast beforre - just a few mins before the were due to come on stage.

I had been really looking forward to this - but during the week, I started looking at some recent vids of their performances. There's a huge difference between the charisma and cheeky swagger that Tom had in comparison to Serge as a front man. Tom was a natural (understandably as he had years of experience), but from what I saw, Serge looks like he is trying to bring too much energy to the performance, but feeling the pressure of being reinstated King, after the previous King was ousted. Too much prancing around the stage, and from some of the footage that I saw, getting cranky with the sound engineers.

I'm probably just being moody now, as it was cancelled at the last minute. Feel sorry for those that travelld for it.Dehabilitating tonsillitis doesn't just develop hours before a gig. I'm no doctor, but I know it develops over a period of time, whereby they could give people a chance to readjust their plans.

I'd bank my money that a good night out in Belfast was part of the problem.

Didn't they cancel a gig in Belfast or Cork a few days after supporting oasis at Slane too.

Yea I was at that. The blossoms played then 5mins b4 kasabian were due on stage they cancelled. We travelled from Waterford and Dublin. Many others I met travelled from uk. Seemed dodgy at the time as they were pictured around belfast that day but think was something with tom possibly not sure. They played reading couple days later.

Was gutted myself but luckily I live in Dublin. Really feel for anyone who shelled out for travel/accommodation etc.

In fairness Royal Blood didn't straight up cancel. It was postponed for a few days before they came back and said they couldn't get a reschedule work and then cancelled.
