Question on Reporting LFT Results to NHS

Myself and a couple of mates are heading over to the UK in a few weeks. We'll need to do a couple of lateral flow tests while we're over there to do what we have planned and I know that there's a requirement to report tests results in the UK to the NHS via their website. I've signed up for an account, which is available to non-UK citizens, but I was wondering if anyone here has experience of submitting test results? Do you need to use an LFT purchased in the UK or will one from Ireland do? How long do you usually wait before they text you confirming the result?
