Highest gust of 93kmph recorded at Roches Point so firmly in yellow territory at the moment. Mean speeds touching 65 which is the boundary between yellow and orange.

The wind has gone mental here in NCD.

Howling away, not helping when your trying to get kids to go asleep!

Squall line forming off the West Coast should hit Galway

A few fairly intense bands of wind and rain just passing over South Wicklow the past 90 minutes or so but the worst of it seems to be clearing to the Irish sea now.

Squalls passing over Athlone at the moment dropping some serious rain!

The wind dropped and the cold came in. Just checked met .ie and just above freezing but my toes already diagnosed that... very calm, intensely quiet..

Pleasant November day. Sunshine but cool. Trying to tidy the garden but the ground is utterly saturated.

Some fields are flooded locally. Just the usual suspects mind but we could do with a drier spell.

Lovely late Autumn day in Greystones. 8.4c atm. Even managed a quick sneaky sail this afternoon.

Lovely day today. The water levels have finally plateaued at key stations like Athlone.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Peaceful. A deep intense reposeful hush.. Not a whisper of a wind. Not an iota of invading bruit.... Shhhhh..

A cool night ahead with some frost with several stations down to 4 degrees at 8pm. Lovely night out there for a walk.

Notable drop in river levels around this part of the south Midlands. Going back down as quickly as they rose. No harm at all.

Fair bit cooler this morning and all day with temperatures barely hitting double figures. A brief shower around 3pm just to annoy the school run folk.

    Yep. Check out his graph.

    Realtime waterlevel

It was important that the levels started to drop and hopefully it continues below median flood level.

It knows what it is about. It has been doing this for centuries.. Just into the new day and that deep intense healing silence hovers over all. The tide has been rising and falling and the land draining and healing itself for centuries.

I see Mount Dillon got to -1° (rounded from -0.9°) at 05:00. Anything know if this is the coldest temperature overnight? Would it also be the coldest this autumn so far?

Fog this morning and cool. It actually didn't rain yesterday. A first for a number of weeks.

Yes was very chilly there especially up in Alberta ❄️❄️

Yes, beats the previous lowest which was -0.5C way back on September 17th which was also at Mt Dillon.

Thanks for that @sryanbruen. I must get myself a Davis type weather station set up at my new home in Longford. Mount Dillon is my closest station. The house is located in a very rural area, is on a very gentle slope with higher ground to my north and east and the lowest point around a few hundred metres to my north and west. I've already noticed that on nights like last night, the area around the house tends to be cooler than other areas nearby. It may be good to begin to track the climatology of the area.

Thick enough fog too, saw it rolling in. Was there this morning, burned off for two or three hours and came back.

The daylight slowly diminishes its hours as the season progresses. Little by gradual little. Gentle but sure - footed.

And a clear chill in the air tonight. Not harsh or threatening... just that awareness that the seasons are changing...

All is as it should be. All is good. And tonight as darkness flourishes, a total calm over land and ocean. As tide follows its pattern as it has done since before we were ever on this earth.
