A chipper might be something to look into. Better than a Hybrid, but you keep that sort of putting stroke and bump and run effect.

    Cleveland do a lovely one.

@Russman - Another plus point on the bump n run. You can hole out more successfully with a shot that releases that bit more. Flicking it in with SW/LW will cause more spin and not release as much. Either stopping short or making the ball react differently on a slope. Bump n run can have more chance of staying on the line assuming the read/line is correct and travelling past the hole. Like a putt, if it doesn't have the pace to travel reach/pass the hole it can never go in. Again it depends on lie/distance/green etc, whatever particular circumstances are at play for the shot.

They make loads of sense. The only thing is that I don't think we'll ever see the pros using them, so I'm not sure if the uptake will be great in amateurs. But the fact that they're expensive and from leading brands might help. If you were looking at a Lynx or a dunlop chipper you might write it off as a cheap cheat club for beginners but of no use to real golfers. Whereas if it's €200 from Ping you might look at it differently.
