Turned out to be a lovely late-afternoon and evening across southern Laois once the sun went to the western side as it peered in under the cloud bank. Temperatures responded in kind with around 23c the maximum here today. There was a bit of an east breeze earlier but it has died down now.

Very strange - temperatures hovering between 25c and 26c in Durrow - no other station anywhere near this level of heat currently. Ventured outside and it is damn warm, so it's not equipment going crazy.

Checked all equipment and there is no fault. Dry bulb is over 25c, wet bulb is near 19c and maximum bulb so far 25.9c. Davis is tracking it pretty much as normal.

Phone says 22deg in Bray now as of 1:25pm, though that patch of high cloud coming over from Angelsey has just reached the coast here and is starting to dim the Sun.
