So watching a documentary - Sex secrets: Sex trips for girls on together tv - which focuses on 'single' british women who travel to Turkey with the purpose of having sexual relationships with local turkey men. These 2 women are friends, both 50ish, one of them is married, and they both bring out their children, one of which is 17 that has a 1yr old who she brought on hols aswell. The 17yr old gets off with some man and doesnt come home til later the next day. The married 50yr old has brought her 11yr old and she's also found a Turkish fellow and is staying with her Turkish toyboy (25) for almost most of the holiday so the other 50yr old friend is minding the 11yr old (begrudgingly) and dragging him around from club to club as she's hoping to get sex from young Turkish men.

The women on it said they loved Turkey in general and that it was a great place to meet many young (poor) men because these men think by getting with older women they'll also get money, a better life etc. So kinda transactional I guess. They also said British men wouldn't pay you a compliment and don't take care of themselves.

Nothing surprises me about this world anymore. Yesterday I was watching videos of Only Fans leaks, it is relatively easy to find the real names of many of these girls and couples. They make up a tiny portion of the population, a lot are from dysfunctional families where none of this stuff is too shocking. Depravity has always been around the only thing that is new is the technology to easily video it and redistribute. I would say there were a lot of "craster's keep" type places in the good old days that were never discovered or only known about by locals.

I did a brief visit to Turkey a few years ago, and I know I shouldn't let one experience put me off, but I have no desire to ever return to the country.

Was staying on one of the Greek Islands and got the ferry over to one of the popular Turkish holiday resorts for a couple of nights. The men we encountered were sleazebags of the highest order. They had literally no standards or decorum. There were families there on holiday with daughters in their mid teens and they were being pestered by these locals who were sleazing after them. At night time, the same type of lads were after the grannies. Came across almost no local women who I assumed were back at home being kept away from everyone.

I'm sure there are more progressive parts of the country where there is a better standard of people, but I'd say this is the typical type that those in the programme you were watching were after.

But thats the essence of tabloid TV in Britain. It glorifies scrounging, neglect and irresponsible sexual behaviour.

It entertains the middle classes who can scarcely believe it goes on and the working classes cheer them on because they want to be them.

Gosh that's mad, super creepy! I've never visited Turkey but when on holidays in Barcelona, these 60 yr old turks dressed in suits bought me n my friends a bottle of wine for our table (at the time we were in our 20s) and they were trying their best to win us over, they basically chased us out of the nightclub and we ended up in a gay bar for fear of our safety, kinda ruined the night, not to say they're all like that though.

Ive often thought how we think about sex will change in the future, I have a belief that we are still extremely rigid when it comes to sex, there’s a lot of stigma and embarrassment attached which will possibly be reduced in some degree, after all we are the only creatures on this planet who believe sex should take place out of sight of others, we even put laws on this, I’m not saying it’s wrong to put these restrictions in place, just that we could be heading in the direction of freer view on sex, rather than a more restrictive perception.
