Who ARE all these rich people?

I grew up in a nice area of Dublin in the 1980's/90's. As far as I was aware, back then, the areas of Dublin that had super rich people were Ballsbridge, Dalkey/Killiney, Foxrock, Howth and bits of Terenure. That was it really. I mean, there were lots of nice suburbs, but the people who lived there lived mostly like…

Ireland always had middle class working class and the rich. Even 10 years ago a house in certain areas was 800k plus, the people at higher levels of Google, Facebook earn tons of money, there's people in the racing industry who are very rich , in the 70s we had some Anglo Irish rich people left, since the 80s Ireland has become a rich country and the big tech company's arrived , also some rich people buy a house live there maybe 2 months a year. Look at those shops selling expensive luxury goods , 500 euro handbags . And now we have reached the point where an ordinary basic house is 300k plus. And we are at the point where many couples need a loan from parents to buy a house.
I wonder would we be better off if we had a recession for 2 years to maybe reduce rents and house prices to cool down the economy
In the 70s, 80s we were a more equal society, maybe a middle class person had a bmw and a house in a posh area, and went on holidays to France or as Spain
Now we are almost a copy of America, money is the most important thing in life, and material goods and bling
