    Honestly you sound super paranoid,

    But sure we'll get rid of the council and government and put everything to a vote with every person in the country, best to rule out those agendas.

    You may not trust your local councillors to make these kind of decisions but obviously enough people do, otherwise they wouldn't have been voted in. I think that's what we call democracy.

    Isn't it strange how some people don't like the idea of local democracy. What are they afraid of? That their agendas are just that and not to the taste of the people?

    The very least a local authority can do when they propose a local placename change is to have a local plebiscite.

    A local plebiscite is not such a bad idea in this case. Considering one of the councillors that proposed it said TUSE was not an upgrade and Waterford always comes out badly in government forced mergers. So councillors credibility is pretty shaky on this.
