In this narrative-driven, third-person survival horror game set 300 years in the future, the player will take on the role of Jacob Lee – a victim of fate thrown into Black Iron Prison, a maximum-security penitentiary located on Jupiter's moon, Callisto. When inmates begin to transform into monstrous creatures, the prison is thrown into chaos. To survive, Jacob must battle his way to safety to escape Black Iron Prison, while uncovering the dark and disturbing secrets buried beneath the surface of Callisto. Using a unique blend of shooting and close-quarters combat, Jacob will need to adapt his tactics to combat the rapidly evolving creatures while scavenging to unlock new weapons, gear, and abilities to outrun the growing threat and escape the horrors of Jupiter's Dead Moon.

The release date is 2/12/22, and the game is in a pretty polished state according to Game Informer (although keep in mind they had exclusive access for this preview).

I won't be watching this - at 15 minutes for Episode 1 alone it may give away too much. But it might be interesting given they're talking to the likes of Savini and Kirkman as well as some of the developers.

Love the idea of a new Dead Space but it seems very melee heavy to me. Would prefer to see more ranged combat where you need to stay calm and use your weapon set to it's fullest potential to reduce taking damage.

Was just looking at prices. Not on Smyths site yet but amazon has it for £44.99 for PS4/5 and XBox One. £49.99 for Series X for some reason.

Yeah I like Dead Space 1 (and 2 to an extent) but it is strange to see them elevated in recent years. Perfectly enjoyable games, but I recall at the time how overtly and shamelessly it ripped off better games 😂

Solid b-tier fare is what the series has always been (well, maybe not Dead Space 3), and this seems to fit that. Although it does sound much more combat heavy than even the Dead Space games were, and they weren't exactly combat light!
