absolute bs how that “start” panned out. It’s as if the FIA are looking to completely cleanse what is already an over cleansed sport. Woeful decision.

Oh wait it's still lashing on part of the circuit

Will the formation laps come off the race distance since they're using fuel?

    Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

How long is the heavy rain supposed to last?

These formation laps don't count towards the number of race laps.

If this is a rolling start I’m not watching. So sick of this baby’ing nonsense. F1 used to be fun.

It is certainly soaking there for half the lap.

Shouldn’t. Once labeled formation lap(s) no race laps lost

    Red Flag!

If they were running full tilt for the last 15 minutes how wet would the track be? ****.

They better not steal a standing start, it's the best bit.

Another Spa. Put a fork in it, it's done.

I can absolutely see them red flagging this.

Edit: Literally as I hit post.

    This is just absolutely pathetic

Red flag. Lads ffs these are the best drivers in the world and there are specific tyres to suit the conditions.

Brundle pretty much representing the fans there.

As much as I like wet races, i think it's too wet now

Better to just red flag untill it calms a bit

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,570 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

In fairness can't blame them for red flagging it

    That radar doesn't look promising

Perez nearly lost it when they moved off the grid. Theres no way they could have raced in those conditions.

    Hopefully it clears up soon.

So laps behind the safety car are not counted as race laps - so if they had done 10 laps behind it for example and then started the race - would there not be issues with running out of fuel?

Edit: Ok so they just shorten the race distance.

    Rascasse looked flooded

They're going to do the rule where there has to be a safety car start when on extreme wets aren't they?

    Ms

Sounds like I am missing a great race not lol.

The laps don’t count in terms of the race counting for points, but they still come off the race distance. They can’t refuel the cars so the laps have to count.

It’s a part of the rule changes after Spa where the media narrative was that the problem with the race is that points were handed out and the fans got to see a podium, rather than focussing on the utter shambles of them not racing.

Well in fairness that chicane after the tunnel would’ve been messy in rain like this.

    Those gazebos are fine jobs.

If they started racing in that rain it would have been carnage
