what is burger kings problem?

Last time I was in Burger king on O Connell street in Dublin, I wanted to have a bite to eat, so went in, I needed to have a leak first though, the security guy said I had to buy food first, wtf? I told him I wasn't bring my food to the toilet but I would be right down to order after I used the toilet, no way he said, so I left. Same situation today, I looked in and there was security there so I went elsewhere to eat, somewhere I knew would trust me enough to us the toilet first and then order.

It seems like a bad way to run a business, like you are treating customers like they are not to be trusted. same thing happened me in a pub in Dublin before as well, this young one hopped on me straight away, where are you sitting? and wouldnt let me use the toilet first before I bought a drink, like im not bringing my drink to a dirty toilet and im not leaving it unattended in a bar so just have the cop on to trust me that im not some scumbag who is lying to you.

That particular Burger King has been like that for years. It's just fcukin Dublin/O'Connel street. Must have loads of problems with fellas coming in just to inject heroin into their testicles in the jacks so they treat everyone with suspicion

My wife and I went into Mc Donalds in O'Connell Street last week, it was shortly after 7am and we only went in to grab a quick coffee. Plenty of office workers and builders in at that hour, but plenty of scumbags too! One young guy came in, placed an order and sat down to remove his shoes and pick at his feet while he waited, glad we weren't eating! The staff at any of the businesses on this street have their work cut out, it's not an easy gig and while the rules re toilets are a nuisance you can see why they have to be restrictive.

Sure couldn’t we all say what you’re saying. BK and their policy cannot know who is honest and who is not. Toilets for customers only. Order food, use toilet. Simple solution.

Maybe they should give the benefit of the doubt to the customer? its not a prison canteen. they wont hold the food for you and im not leaving it unattended or bringing it to the toilet.

You weren't a paying customer though as you'd gone in to use the toilet and then buy something, paying customers have bought something before using the toilets.

McDonald's has locks on most of their toilets and put the code on the receipt so only paying customers can use their toilets.

O Connell Street must have been nice in the past before the dirty junkies first started to appear 40 years ago, I know they die young but there is always another one to replace the one that overdoses.

I run a business myself, now I could ask every customer for the money up front but that wouldnt go down well at all and I would definitely loose customers, a lot of them, I give the benefit of the doubt to 99% of customers.
