Oh thanks for sharing - above a post says they have called 41 open for Westmeath & 24 inter - is that a typo??

  • Registered Users Posts: 5 justaminute

Is it definitely up to 41 open for Westmeath? Thanks a million.

Hi all ! Does anyone know if there is a board for the 2022 An Garda Siochana Executive Officer competition?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12 Kerrylad91

Haven't heard anything about it. Is this a new campaign?

I don't think it's a typo. I asked them before Christmas and they were up to 4 open and 3 interdepartmental. Surely it can't be a typo in case of both open and interdepartmental.

At the time I was surprised they were so slow getting through Westmeath panel given the amount of EOs needed and thought that they would probably up their game after Christmas and looks like I was right. Here's hoping it won't be long before they reach my number.

I saw that and it had me confused! I was called for the week of the 10th, they only interviewed for 3 days (10th, 11th and 12th) but they are doing interviews this week as well on the 17th, 18th, 19th.

Hi all, got my interview date and familiarization material, I noticed that on this there is just 5 competencies versus the 6 when you actually look up executive officer competencies. Does this mean Specialist Knowledge, Expertise and Self Development will not be asked? instead it seems to be part of Drive and Commitment to Public Service Values.

Just yesterday, its at the start of next month :)

No it was an internal AGS EO competition that was running alongside the Open EO competition. They released results from batch 2 interviews and I passed so I was just wondering if there was anyone on here in the same boat. Trying to figure out how big the panel is !

It's just over two weeks away! Start of Feb! Reluctant to give the date, but looks like you'll be given at least two weeks notice. :)

Got called for interview also. My OOM is in the mid 500's. This and my AO interview are in the same week!

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Can anyone help me with the next steps, please.

Garda vetting finished last week. Referee now required.

Is it HR of the relevant dept after that?

Anyone like to share how long it took to hear from HR, please?

Hi cnmjb92. I got my results for this comp too. I have no idea either how many are in each batch but i know of someone who is no. 12. I'm thinking maybe a batch of 15? But ive no idea to be honest.

At least the interviews are essentially the same in terms of content. Hopefully the presentation is going alright for you!

Anyone have an idea where Kildare is at on OOM? Hadn't moved much when I emailed before Christmas.

Oh thank you - so they're still low numbers in Westmeath then - makes sense! I was confused as other post had said open stream 41 inter 24 but maybe they're talking about a different campaign.

Yes I thought Westmeath might move a bit quicker - best of luck to you!

Does anybody know how many people they called to be interviewed for MEATH?

    Thanks.

Had my interview today. I'll just leave some info in case it's helpful to others to compare. I had an OOM in the 420s. Got the expression of interest email on 9th December, replied the same day to confirm I wanted to proceed to interview. I was sent the invite with the link and familiarisation materials on 13th December, with interview date of today 18th January. I presume such a long gap because of the christmas period.

Interview was standard competency-based stuff for the most part, 5 competencies only as they combine Drive & Commitment etc + Professional Knowledge etc. The interviewers were nice but I found them to be interrupting a lot compared to other civil and public service interviews I've had. I don't know if that's a good or bad sign tbh. Sometimes it felt like they had what they needed and wanted to move on, other times it felt like I wasn't giving them some essential element that they were looking for. Oh well! They indicated at the end that I would get results in 5-10 following conclusion of this batch of interviews, which I think are continuing until the end of the week or so. So basically 1-2 weeks wait for the result. Not sure what I'm expecting. I would usually have a good idea of whether I passed or not, but in this instance I'm stumped!

Does anyone know how many have been called for Meath?

  • Registered Users Posts: 9 drawaline123

I had mine last week and felt very similar to you. It felt like they were very much in a rush and I was left feeling like I hadn't given them what they wanted. My interview was 43mins long, my CO interview was 55mins.

I have no idea how I did but I expect to find out either this Friday the 20th or the following Friday the 27th.

    Best of luck to you!
