What are your thoughts on no added sugar Ribena and drinks like it? There seems to be a small amount of calories in it, about 10 calories per 250ml.

Is it suitable as a low calorie sweet drink or are there hidden extras?

    Sucralose

Change your gut microbiome by lowering the number of good bacteria by half and increase body inflammation.

    Acesulfame k

Cause weight gain and shifts in the gut microbiome, which could potentially lead to obesity and chronic inflammation

    No real vitamin C

Only 6% of Black-currant Juice and the rest pure water & cheap somewhat addictive chemistry.

    They taste horrible.

    Plain water is far preferable.

Thanks for this. I actually already decided to stop using it, but this firms up that decision. 👍

    Thoughts? Needs more sugar.

If it helps you drink more water then why not?

That list of explanations above is an absolute cr*ck of utter sh*t. One, literally ONE study done on mice and spoofer above is telling people that acesulfame leads to weight gain and potentially obesity. One of the conclusions of that study was that it potentially led to greater fluid retention - nobody is getting obese because they are retaining extra water. My god.

That poster is obsessed with "anti-nutrient" bro-science.

OP, yes, you'd be better off drinking plain water, but if a drop of NAS cordial is the difference between you drinking plenty of water or none at all, then have at it. Just mind your teeth.

Look at the big picture, it's a drop of Ribena and not going to be the difference in you reaching your goals. If you have the main pillars of your diet are in place, then this can surely be accommodated. Especially if it results in you drinking more water throughout the day.
