    Skelton entry there was dodgy

La Rochelle's lineout drive is scary. If you compete to steal the ball and fail, you're giving them an easier chance to drive. But if you don't compete you're resigning yourself to them getting an easy drive.

La Rochelle have so many breakdown threats even without Botia. The one area where they've a definite advantage over Leinster.

That's nasty, RWC could be over for Jonny Gray

    Exeter clinging on a bit.

Jonny Gray might have a nasty injury here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,987 ✭✭✭theVersatile

Hadn't seen much of Dillane before that carry. Seems to have found a place at six in the LAR team.

Unlucky for Grey. Horrible time to get what looks like an awful injury

    Thats nonsense refereeing. Zero consistency

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,856 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

Just don't contest it occasionally so. It'll upset momentum.

From a Leinster point of view though, I think the gameplan we executed yesterday, with a few surprises thrown in, will be enough to cut off this La Rochelle approach. We'll be well able to cream cracker their fatties, with our options that Exeter just don't have.

Leinster kind of copied Ireland in lineout yesterday, majority they waited on the ground but the odd one they threw up a player to challange for it just to keep Toulouse on their toes.

Exeter have probably the worse ref for this game, Peyper normally decides pre-game who he thinks will win the game and then seems to be totally biased the entire game for that team.

Ah for christ sake. How many penalties did LaR get away with no card and an immediate card for Exeter.

Peyper is such a poor referee.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,419 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

Hard to see Exeter turn this around now...

  • Registered Users Posts: 134 ✭✭RidleyJones

He is not a poor ref, he is a biased ref

He knows the laws etc but is very very biased towards the team he thinks should win. This actually could benefit with Ireland because at this stage he might think Ireland shoudl win our games. Previously he always expected France/NZ/whoever would beat Ireland

Exeter had the chance of a 3 on 2 overlap out wide. They actually spread the ball there but took contact instead of passing.

It was Slade as well who I thought should be able to spot and execute that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,021 ✭✭✭✭Interested Observer

    Excellent try.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,419 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

Becconsall is such a liability defensively.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,318 ✭✭✭scott1974

Could be a hammering on the cards here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 910 ✭✭✭Ciaran

This could be a 40-point hammering. Exeter's defence is all over the place.

    KBA at its finest there.

Exeter are hard to deal with with ball in hand, tough bruising pack. But they can't deal with La Rochelle's attack.

Is he the only scrum half Exeter have available?

I know he's a kid but my god he's no where near the level of a HC semi final

Bright start but Exeter's challenge stuffed with that knock on on the LAR line.

Very poor knock out phase this year. Hope the final is better.

Bougarit is some player. It's a pity France a stacked with hookers

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,758 ✭✭✭✭BattleCorp

    It's a massacre.

    Exeter are brutal. Utter muck.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,987 ✭✭✭theVersatile

That's a ridiculous pass off that scrum. What on earth like?

Tshiuzna got nuked out of that last breakdown before the try. He hasn't really stood out for a guy that's such a physical freak.

Have to pray that Pearce gets the nod for the final. Need someone who will actually punish La Rochelle for their constant infringements.

    Bit of an Exe fightback

Very good game from Peyper. Zero controversy, zero fuss. His name will be out of the papers which is usually an indicator that a ref has done a good job. Last TMO call made quickly and efficiently without overthinking.
