How old are you? That’s some 1940s attitude you have there.

Lock up people in possession? That’s a hilariously retrograde measure you’ve called for.

What, a normal college kid smoking a joint and hurting nobody gets found by a Garda and throw in jail, thereby ruining their prospects of a career and destroying their life over something equally innocuous as drinking a beer. I’m sorry but that is ridiculous. Maybe move to China if you like that kind of thing.

Are common folk that desperate for a little excitement in their lives that not only do they put with up gang and crime culture/practice, but in some sense actively glamorize it... ?

People are a strange breed, given the wrong time and place on occasion.

    In physics we trust....

Well in fairness most bouncers I've met are absolute scumbags and I don't drink out often so maybe there is a hint of truth to it.

All traveller families involved in crime are considered OC, you just won't see that recognized in the media because it's a huge controversy to say the Gardai willingly step aside to let Organized Crime Gangs do what they want out of fear of retaliation.

A report published today on estate management by DCC has said that OC & anti-social behaviour around drugs in some housing estates owned by the council does appear to be a very small part of the jigsaw when authorities try to combat drug crime in Dublin. However drug crime, intimidation & racism are the most dominant form of OC within these estates.

The report from the council found that drug gangs do exert forms of control over social housing tenants who live in housing estates such as Darndale, Ballymun, Northeast-Inner City and South City. It's said that varied studies in these parts of Dublin which have social housing & flat complexes in them do create hotspots for these crimes to potentially get a lot worse for residents.

There has also been findings in the report which note that high levels of anti-social behaviour causes high levels of deprivation from within these housing estates.

It's a fact of life when you look at areas with the highest levels of anti-social behaviour within Dublin City Centre. When drugs gets into communities that have lots of social housing contained within it. There are higher levels of deprivation among people who live there whether they are connected with the drug gangs or not. It's a fairly damning insight does not appear to get better particularly during Covid.

We all should have heard the numerous stories that were accelerated from people during the pandemic in some parts of Dublin City that really brought to light a lot of home truths in how these gangs had tightened their grips of control among people who live in these estates. Now we are seeing it coming home to roost in how these gangs have this level of control among certain people when they are living in these parts of the capital.

When you have these trends consistently coming up about these estates; the innocent people who live in them are probably living in states of constant fear all the time if they are near within a faint line of sight of these criminals. If plans for a metropolitan police force for Dublin comes to fruition sometime in the future; I would be all for it.
