Hi guys as above 09 Fiesta the front windscreen washer pump not working the rear is though. All fuses good etc. I'm pretty sure there's only one pump that's bi directional. On pressing the stalk for the washer the wipers used to pop on as well but they are not working either but work fine otherwise. Any input appreciated

Sounds like an issue with the stalk. I'm assuming their is one operation for the front wipers and another for the rear. The fact the rear works means the pump does, and the fact the fornt wipers work when switched on means they also work.

IOW everything works as it should just the signal from the stalk to front washers to work is not happening. Try playing around with the stalk/button (not sure if you move the stalk or if there is a button on that model, but the mk5/6 you pushed the stalk away for the rear and to you for front). "Wiggle" the stalk or tap the button alternating between hard presses and gentle presses. Might be something as simple as a bad connection of it could be a faulty stalk.

I'm kind of thinking the same. You press a slider down on the stalk for front screen wash. I did read somewhere that the pump spins one way for rear and another for the front but if the pump is dodgy would it stop the wiper movement? If not its pointing to the bcm I reckon

The pump should have no effect on the wipers in relation to what we're discussing. Ever run out of water? The wipers still function but no water. Bit simplistic, but you get the idea.

Your wipers are working when used normally but not in conjunction with the washers, otherwise my first advice woud have been to check for a broken/disconnected pipe from the pump. The rear washer working means the pump is functioning but I'm confident if the pump were knackered it would not work at all instead of only one direction.

To be clear I've never had this problem so the solution, while somewhat clear, is new to me. That is to say that if it is the stalk then replacing it is the only option, but howto go about that is not something I'm familiar with. Would a new stalk be the solution, is it a case of replacing the stalk and BCM (FBCM), would stripping yuor current stalk and cleaning (like dirty/poor contacts) work. I simply don't know having never done it.

The closest I've come to this issue was my indicators not working, or rather not canceling, but it was on a new jeep and the steering clock was replaced under warranty.

Found this which makes it seem easy and a simple case of unplug, plug and play.
