Just a quick question - as I had to register for tax last year as a one off due to offloading some shares I got through work, I engaged an accountant as my agent for that, he had the cert and did it all - will I have to deregister now to go through the the usual process of putting in Medical expenses for that 2023 or do I have to submit another form 11?

Nope as a tax credit indeed. That's what its called and designed to be used as

Yes but the person that was asking the question was obviously claiming for 2023. So just a warning to people that you will not receive the 750 as a lump sum as that is how many claim it

    Anyone receive their SOL today?

No not yet, typical the one year I’m in a rush with it it’s slower than last year

Just looking back on my old bank statements.

I always did my return around the first or second of January and the dates it arrived in the account were as follows.

    19/02/2020*

    26/01/2021

    10/01/2022

    06/01/2023.

So id expect it any day now.

*If I recall the 2019 return was later as that was the first year of the new system where employers no longer sent out P60s but rather uploaded the data to revenue throughout the year, and this resulted in extra overhead at the end of the year the first year they did it that way.

Nothing , no email or payment and status on Ros has not changed .

I've had to drop an email regarding my/my wife's SOL.

She's registered for income tax since 2015, due to rental property. I stayed PAYE but this year, despite being retired I had a significant one off income the was taxed at source. I am owed approx €5.5k in overpaid income tax.

The thing is neither me, nor my wife can generate either a statement of liability on ROS nor via Myaccount. Each one generates a "registered for income tax" message with no path to a statement.

Hopefully will be resolved via email.

Nothing for me. I applied for mine on the 1st and my mother's on the 3rd.

Another poster said we should hear tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see if they're right

I haven't heard anything either; hopefully, tomorrow, as the other posters have said.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6 Pigscanfly12

I believe that poster said Tuesday at the earliest, don't get your hopes up! This could take weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,155 ✭✭✭the whole year inn

Why you think weeks,I usually found this process pretty quick and they did says 10 working days so Monday at the latest .

I had sent an enquiry about another matter and asked about my SOL too and got a response about the SOL a few minutes ago.

"Your Statement of Liability has not issued yet, apologies for the delay. There is a delay is statements issuing at the moment, it will issue in the coming days"

Same moaning heads every year pop up on this. Relax its the first week of Jan. Give the office a chance to get back at least. Some people rage for the sake of it. It'll be here in the next 10 days.

I am delighted for you that your not stuck for this money to pay bills, maybe tax the car fill the oil tank up, ESB coming out next week have you many bills coming in yourself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Dwarf.Shortage

If you are relying on Revenue turning around a few hundred thousand tax returns in four business days to pay your day to day bills then you are setting yourself up to fail.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 937 ✭✭✭crinkley

Well it’s not incomprehensible considering they managed it last year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Dwarf.Shortage

It’s not incomprehensible, that doesn’t mean you rely on it to the point your ESB bill won’t clear if it’s delayed a few days. It’s not many years ago I didn’t get my SoL until February.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 937 ✭✭✭crinkley

People can rely on it for many reasons, I need it for the htb, the people complaining about people wondering when it will be ready on a message board about the sol are imo even bigger moaners

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Dwarf.Shortage

Hopefully the SoLs issue before I get over a stranger on the internet calling me a moaner, otherwise we’ll all be waiting months.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,630 ✭✭✭kerryjack

Sadly your right dwarf it's gone to a state now where where average Joe's making 40k like myself and don't drink or smoke have to wait for tax back to pay a few of last years bills. Shocking how the other half lives.

I am completely smashed actually. Got an ESB bill today that floored me. My car has needed work done that has floored me. I have bills coming out my ears. All i'm saying is that it is only the 9th of January and it will probably take a few more days. I'm broke to the ropes myself but theres no point in relying on something to be instant. Be great if it comes along this week but at the same time its only barely a week into January so im not going to jump up and down about it.
