It's an in the round gig, so the stage will be on the middle of the pitch and either Sheeran will move around or the stage will rotate, it seems there'll also be a stage in front of the hill, so for your necks sake, 306-309 or 328 to 330. Or if you can get front row in the upper sections of those.

There’s no good seats in croker it’s too big

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,209 ✭✭✭Nigzcurran

Ah yeah I know! I’m bringing my son to his first concert as he’s mad into Ed Sheeran so just want it to be as good as possible

For that homicide of Raglan Road he just committed on Jools Holland, I'm having this gig cancelled.

Seriously, I will raze Croke Park to the ground to stop it.

Yep I dunno what that was all about. Especially the gazing lovingly at the girl singing with him! Who was she?

    Ed aint the brightest.

It was supposed to be a New Years Eve show and he blurts out that he just checked his phone and Ipswich were losing at Barrow.

That match occurred on Dec 15th, I honestly couldn't believe that they left it in the aired show.

Going to this Gig on Saturday but tickets still are not available to download on the ticketmaster app on my phone. Anyone else having this problem? Ticketmaster customer support is a joke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,585 ✭✭✭bennyl10

do you have the option to request code? then you'll get a text and they'll unlock

Being dragged on Sunday to see the bould Ed... Need to park over towards Fitzwillam Sq / Merrion Sq direction for the day. Is it still free street parking around there of a Sunday or is that long gone??

Not sure of that exact area but you’ll find free parking close enough to it on a Sunday, maybe down around grand canal street which would be closer to Croker

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,087 ✭✭✭markc1184

6 of us going on Saturday with myself as the lead booker. With how things are now with ticketmaster and tickets is it best to leave all tickets on my phone to scan or distribute them to the other 5. We will all be going in together anyway. Or do they actually check that the lead booker is present like they say?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,590 ✭✭✭Ginger83

I received a parking pass for the disabled car park.

Coming in from M1 so will any of the roads be closed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,016 ✭✭✭Zardoz

Check the lead booker, lol, for 80k people.

Nope, there wont be any checks, there never are.

Really appreciate any info from anyone heading tonight on parking and start times. I'm heading in tomorrow night with two kids so I'm considering driving

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,474 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Enjoy everyone going tonight and over the tour

Apparently the stage is never before seen and configured for each venue

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,209 ✭✭✭Nigzcurran

Yeah it’s gonna be a late finish so driving home would be ideal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,209 ✭✭✭Nigzcurran

    Forecast looks good

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,209 ✭✭✭Nigzcurran

    Pricey enough for parking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,864 ✭✭✭flasher0030

Saw him on Wednesday night in Vicar. Amazing. That's from someone who only knows the songs that would be on radio, TV etc. He seems so genuinely humble.

I'm kinda getting itch fingers here now for Croke Park. It's only down the road from me.

If anyone knows of anyone stuck with tickets cause of last minute drop-outs, cant get rid of it and willing to take a nominal amount for it, I can roll up there at any time, given a half hours notice.

seems from adverts etc. that there will be a lot of tickets going to waste for it, in the same boat as above would like to go as just down the road but couldn't pay 100 odd for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,209 ✭✭✭Nigzcurran

Reckon you’d get them last minute for €50/60 ish

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,476 ✭✭✭showpony1

it sort of looks like no one went back to update their ads looking for face value etc, prob end up in the bin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,209 ✭✭✭Nigzcurran

If you see ads on the likes of adverts at this stage I reckon they’ll take anything rather than lose out altogether but be very wary of rip off merchants, check their feedback

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,007 ✭✭✭✭hynesie08

Walked home with castle on the hill blaring from croker, whatever your feelings about Sheeran or his music, hearing 80000 people losing their minds to live music is a special feeling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,864 ✭✭✭flasher0030

It was amazing gig. The second hour was very special. I'll be looking out for another ticket for tomorrow.

Got one for €30 in the end. Actually got 2 tickets for that, but couldn't use the second one. It was really last minute. But that was through a lot of messages and perseverance. There are lot more tickets available on adverts for tomorrow so will be easier to get one.

He has a song Bloodstream, which is brilliant live.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,016 ✭✭✭Zardoz

Thats the problem with all the restrictions Sheeran places on tickets.

They are nigh on impossible to sell or give to people so loads go to waste.

He also release lots close to the event, you should never buy a ticket for him in advance.

His stage looked decent enough , he spent a few bob on a decent setup, the stage he had for the last tour was diabolical.

Question for anyone there tonight or familiar with Croker.

Im bringing my mam and brother to Garth Brooks and will be in the Hogan Stand. Her mobility isn't the best. Not wheelchair bound or anything, but walking anything other than a short distance would be a challenge. What are my best options to get her as close to the entrance as possible on the way in? I can drive, I don't mind being stuck in traffic and missing the start by dropping them in, but I'm guessing streets will be closed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,007 ✭✭✭✭hynesie08

You'll get her as far as drumcondra train station before closures kick in, from there it's an 8-10 minute walk to Hogan stand. It'll be getting the car afterwards where there'll be a delay. Depending on where you're coming from I'd park along the dart line and hop the train afterwards.

Anyone at the gig last night know if they checked the lead booker tickets.I can't make it so I plan to give a screen shot of the ticket and my ID to my sister so that she can use the ticket. I'm hoping this will work?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,474 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

From the pics I've seen the stage looked very Impressive. Some going for a guy who started out as a busker

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,745 ✭✭✭StupidLikeAFox

Was at it and they just scanned tickets as normal, no difference to any other gig or match I've been at in croker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 301 ✭✭Citygirl1

Hi guys. What time did the concert finish last night?

Also, wondering, do people ever go to these events solo (a single female)? Or, would it look very odd? I live quite close by, and see tickets available online and have a notion to book on-spec! But wouldn't be able to get a companion at this late stage....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 225 ✭✭Pines

Also, anyone know what time he came on stage last night?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,219 ✭✭✭airy fairy

Good to see they just scan when you have the ticket to hand on the phone. The instructions sent beforehand gave the impression they'd make you get a new code at the gate!!

Heading to the Cork one this week. Firstly, I booked tickets hastily and will have a 13 & 15 yo standing ..will they check her age, she's quite tall.

Secondly, we're bringing one of the friends too. The mom bought the ticket, in her name, not the kids, surname the same, should be ok?

As I said, hastily bought tickets last year as I wanted the kids to experience a concert after the last 2 years. Hope we'll get in now!

  • I am a lad and I frequently go to gigs alone if my mates are unavailable and nobody takes a blind bit of notice.

People are just there for the music.

I am going to Roisin Murphy by myself in the Olympia tonight.

I have gone to shows etc on my own. It would be a shame to miss out on something you would enjoy.

And honestly other people don't care, notice or think about whether it's odd or not! And if they do, that's on them! Go for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,864 ✭✭✭flasher0030

    Finished at 10.45.

I went on my own. But I generally go to gigs on my own. It’s more for the music for me than the social side. I know, I might be bit odd; but Shure whatever keeps me happy. There will be about 70,000 people there tonight. Nobody will give a hoot if you’re on your own or not. People will not even notice. Everyone has their own agenda going. Booze, dancing, looking after kids etc. Go for it. It was a great experience last night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,864 ✭✭✭flasher0030

Load of kids there last night. Many around the ages 10 to about 14. There were kids about the ages 6 or 7, but not as many. I wish I had brought my own 2 if I had known. Hope they enjoy it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,219 ✭✭✭airy fairy

    Thanks for that.

They're not mega fans or anything, it was a sheer mad moment and a low balance on the credit card prompted me to buy the tickets for us. For the experience more than anything!

Looked to be a great show, not a hugely into him or anything but perfect for that type of venue and he has some really nice songs which sounded good live.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,235 ✭✭✭MOR316

Did he have a band with him?

I've seen clips where there are drums and electric guitar but only him on stage...

Or is he just playing acoustic along to backing tracks? If so, that's **** awful and daylight robbery 😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,474 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

He siad in vicar street he uses pedals but its all him doing the work no backing tracks and all that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,016 ✭✭✭Zardoz

He uses backing tracks, and has other stuff going on, he had an incident in the Albert Hall a number of years where one of the backing tracks kept looping .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,235 ✭✭✭MOR316

I know he uses a loop pedal and how it works.

But, I also know you can't get drums and an electric guitar from an acoustic guitar, no matter what you do. He played songs last night that had electric guitar and drums on them so, did he have a band for those songs or was he using backing tracks?

If the latter and he was strumming along to them, he can do one!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,425 ✭✭✭maestroamado

I think he is a con-artist and always have...

He is a good con-man so I admire him for that...

Bit like the guy in the pub... 2 hours €200...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,406 ✭✭✭el Fenomeno

Will be coming from Greystones so DART might be handiest then. What are the chances of her getting a seat on the DART on the way back? Probably plenty of people getting off along the way so I guess she wouldn't be left standing too long.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,007 ✭✭✭✭hynesie08

That I can't answer, when ed Sheeran played the phoenix park the train was jammers, but completely emptied at Connolly, I imagine it'll be the same for Garth, and I'd imagine most of his crowd would be heading the other direction.

What beers are available in Croke Park?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,864 ✭✭✭flasher0030

He had a band there for some songs last night. Hence the electric guitar sound. Doesn’t use backing tracks. He has that pedal thing which repeats certain sounds generated by himself.

i didn’t pay full price last night. But for the entertainment that it was, in hindsight I would have if needed. Worth every euro.
