They really need to stop the tradition of putting the lions on Thanksgiving. It's hard to find a less enticing game then that bears lions match up. Given the circus in Chicago right now the Lions might actually win, but honestly who gives a toss? I for one will be drinking heavily.

I miss Kevin Cadle and the huge turkey in the tiny Sky Sports studio on this day every year 😔

It's obviously better now than than it was 15 years ago as we have all the games on gamepass, but I always get nostalgic for the old sky sports days on thanksgiving.

Bears and Lions are two pretty tragic teams at the moment.

Chicago are well ahead of Detroit but both bottom feeders in the NFL.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,698 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

I've been watching some of this game and been keeping track of the score and the lions take the lead 14-13 even after a flag on the PAT. The bears missed a FG early in the second half to go 16-7 up.

And it’s two poor teams playing.

Lions 14- 13 after three quarters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,472 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Usually the Lions exist to make the Bears look better or so us fans know that it could always be worse. Not so sure this year. We're both embarrassingly bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,452 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

First quarter Lions TD, second quarter Bears TD and 2 FG's. Third quarter Lions TD, fourth quarter?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,827 ✭✭✭Mr. Guappa

That was a special kind of drive. They did well to get towards midfield and then stuck it into reverse. False start, Hold, Hold on consecutive plays to back up 25 yards! I was wondering why they kept calling run plays. Then I saw Goff attempt a pass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,004 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

This is the worst game of football I've watched in years. Want to win because losing in this game would be embarrassing, but if we lose they just have to fire Nagy which would be something.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,698 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Back to back Time outs which you can’t do. It’s stuff like that which has along with other stuff hurt the lions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,472 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Back to back timeouts penalty. God bless the Detroit Lions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,698 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

And it’s a time out off between the two head coaches.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,698 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

what are the bears looking for the FG ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,698 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Bears win it but not exactly a classic win but as someone once said they’re no pictures in the standings.

Now I know I picked the cowboys to win but they’re missing a few players and some coaches are now out due to covid and I’d be happy the take the L because it’s the cowboys.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,064 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

Pity the bears won at the last second

Giants need them to lose as much as possible for better draft pick

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,472 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Don't worry. We're probably not going to win another game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,064 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

    I don't know

Ye play us later on in the year lol

Things are bad in the NFL when that Bears team has 4 wins already.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,004 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

To be fair the bears are missing their starting quarterback, no.1 wide receiver, and their two best defensive players. I'm not defending the bears as a team but show me the team that can survive those losses and still look good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,452 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Whose their starting QB? I thought it was Dalton.

If you are talking about Fields, I hardly think a QB whose thrown 4 TD passes and 8 ints makes a huge difference even if you have your best receiver.

They didn't have problems on defense tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,452 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

That was a beautiful play by Carr, pocket awareness and movement and then a cracking throw to release Jackson.

TD for Dallas but missed the PAT so it’s 7-6 vegas. Nice throw from Carr and nice job of Joshua jacobs staying in bounds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,698 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Bad fumble from the raiders but in fairness that’s good effort to keep the ball in play. Is it a catch though ? Nope incomplete pass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,698 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Amazing how it went from possibly being a cowboys TD to the raiders special teams coming up big.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,004 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

Dalton hasn't been the starting QB since week 3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,452 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Carlson is some kicker, long and clutch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,862 ✭✭✭Mysterypunter

Bad against worse in that Dallas game, a tie would have been a fair result, as no one deserved to win, someone said last week that Minnesota must be the most frustrating team to support, but it has to be Dallas, they are crazy useless

It took a couple of weeks longer but there’s the annual cowboys wobble coming into view. Yes, there was the load of penalties which even I think was too much, but the cowboys were never ahead in the game. They are still ahead in the NFC east but it’s not as run away as most expected. The eagles need to win on Sunday against the giants first.

I thought the officiating in the first half of the cowboys raiders game yesterday was a disgrace .Multiple bad calls against the cowboys on critical downs to extend drives for the raiders

The Nfl needs to do something about the quality of the officials as there having too much of an influence on games at this stage.

The Eagles aren't a good team either. Beating the Saints and Broncos is causing a few Philly fans to lose the run of themselves. Dallas are overrated but should finish well ahead of the Eagles IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if the Giants beat the Eagles this weekend.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,452 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

The Eagles are improving as the season goes on. They gave the Bucs a good game a few weeks back and the Chargers more recently.

I think they have a good chance of catching the Cowboys as they are well capable of beating the Giants and Washington twice and the Jets. Their last game is at Dallas and by then they could be level or even a game up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,698 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

well the eagles have finally worked out how to use the team we have best. And no it’s not made any fans lose the run of themselves. Check and you’ll see I use the phrases it’s only game etc.

Eagles making a huge mess of an easy matchup. They can move the ball but stupid decisions, stupid calls and poor passes from Jalen Hurts costing them big.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 210 ✭✭Repo101

Nonsense. Eagles are overrated as I stated previously. Giants are a poor team and they've already had 3 turnovers. Just admit your wrong

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,452 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,698 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

The eagles did what I feared and asked Jalen hurts to do what’s he’s not good at which is to pass the football when he’s a running QB. I don’t understand why we got away from what has clearly worked the last few weeks. He’s an amazing running QB but asking him to stand there and air the ball out just isn’t his skill set is a recipe for disaster.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,452 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Fournette in again but he should have went down before he got to the end zone.

Only 20 seconds left but you just never know.

Think I'm done with game pass, they've blacked out 5 of the last 6 packers game

    WHAT THE ****?????????

THAT BALL CLEARLY HITS THE GROUND

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,004 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

Yeah was a terrible decision, I was supporting the browns but I don't see how anyone could look at that and think it didn't touch the ground. The refs are so bad, it's every week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,639 ✭✭✭✭ELM327

I think there was no clear angle that showed it did not not touch the ground, after being ruled a TD on the field. I'm ok with the "stands as called".

Speaking of CLE/BAL, the ravens won despite Lamar's best stinking up the gaff performance I've seen yet. He's lucky he has such a strong supporting cast to support this RB at QB experiment.
