Just wondering did that end up SIM free?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,572 ✭✭✭davehey79

Can confirm TCL 40R is SIM Free. Got one for her indoors and works a charm. Nice phone and she finds the camera better than the Samsung A14 she had been using for a year. Samsung in the last week basically slowed to a snails pace with little or nothing on it space wise. Anyhow she's happy and and only cost 40 snots so win win.

Excellent! Thank you. Have one on the way tomorrow all going well. First order was cancelled but second one worked with a 48 port. First order was with a debit card, second with a credit card oddly enough.

I need to buy a phone tomorrow as my current phone is giving up.

Looking to spend 200-300. Is the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5g the best option in that range?

Its going for 200 EUR on Vodafone if I switch to Vodafone.

Got the redmi note 12 5g last week with a 3 SIM. I bought the SIM 2 years ago just to try to get a pixel but that effort was cancelled. Forgot about the SIM after and didn't use it since.... Joke but it worked out in the end!

  • Registered Users Posts: 134 ✭✭caper23

has anyone had to return a device purchase online with vodafone? I've been told for the last 5 days DPD would collect it the next day but nothing.

I returned earphones. I posted them back with a prepaid printed An Post docket. Had to chase them to get the money back, but got it eventually.

If you get the Nokia G42, you also get free headphones (RRP: €79.99).
It's a good cheap phone, but don't expect a flagship for the price.

  • Registered Users Posts: 134 ✭✭caper23

do both these phones come with chargers? type C i persume same as samsung?

so is it still go to pay as you go phone, port over a number with a new sim card and choose any plan and just purchase?

anyone ever end up being deducted money every month by vodaphone?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,616 ✭✭✭✭okidoki987

PAYG unless you want to be tied down on a 24 month contract.

Tried to get the G42 with the free headphones in a store and was told it was an online offer only.

    • Get a sim card from an alternative network.
I used Lycamobile in the past as they're free, but 48 and others work too.

    • Activate the SIM on a phone buy turning it on, making a call, or receiving a text.
    • Go to Vodafone.ie, proceed to buy the phone.

Are you a Vodafone Customer? No.
Do you want to? Keep your number.

    • Enter your phone number, authorise the details for the port.
    • Done.

Xiaomi redmi 12 5g doesn't come with a charger. Only comes with a cable, usb to c type. I would recommend buying a c to c type charger as my Samsung ones are slower at charging than then new one I got. 👍

Which is better the Nokia or Xiaomi redmi .

I have a 48 sim. Do i need credit on it to activate and make a call??

Better display on the Xiaomi Redmi but the Nokia is better value if you include the free headphones, I'd go with the Redmi.

Won't need credit, you just need to receive the code they send during order process to confirm porting it over to Vodafone.

Ok the Xiaomi is android based?

    Must purchase charger after?

  • Registered Users Posts: 134 ✭✭caper23

Do i need to register an email account on vodafone? Make up a new email??

Android with Xiaomi Mi, no charger just includes USBC cable.

You need an email address not currently associated with an existing Vodafone account.

  • Registered Users Posts: 134 ✭✭caper23

Brillant thank you. Might go for the nokia if charger included as well

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,081 ✭✭✭✭RobbingBandit

Just got my dispatch text no mention of earphones they were main reason to go for G42

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,081 ✭✭✭✭RobbingBandit

Will update if it comes with a charger once it arrives tomorrow

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,405 ✭✭✭StaticNoise

Nokia does not come with a charger, only a cable.
Most phones will come without a charger.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,160 ✭✭✭Sappy404

Mine just arrived. Earbuds were shrink-wrapped with the box of the phone so it's not a separate dispatch. I ordered the purple FWIW.

  • Registered Users Posts: 134 ✭✭caper23

    No charger?

    When did you order?

    What sim you use??

Very similiar phones but go for headphones extra on Nokia. No on 48 sim-you'll be receiving a text only. You could test the 48 number by sending an SMS text to it
