The most predictable firing ever, Vogel out after getting a near impossible team to coach shoved down his throat.

As good as LeBron is, there is a pattern where when things aren’t working out towards the end, the coach gets fired and people start getting thrown under the bus with LeBron driving it..lol

    Vogel will be snapped up

I’ve been on vacation so haven’t paid too much attention the past week but some of the nonsense I’ve just watched is hilarious.

Delighted to see the Lakers circus unraveling, Rob Pelinka not exactly coming out on too here, very disrespectful to leak the Vogel firing before telling the man himself, one could argue everyone knew the deal but still classless.

LeBron doing the usual playing dumb card as if everything was out of his control.

Then Westbrook acting like he has no idea what Vogel’s problem was with him, he really can’t be that delusional on how he has played this year, granted the Lakers should never of signed him, just a bad fit but he never tried to adapt, some horrendous performances. I really can’t see how any team would trade for him now, he is just not a good fit for teams, even if you wanted to dump some contracts and have him somewhere to engage the fans while rebuilding, it would be hard to develop young talent while he is on the floor.

Yup, and the blame game has started already in a big way. As a Celtics fan, it's hilarious......and only made even more hilarious by the news this morning that they are considering Mark Jackson as their next coach. PLEASE DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

It honestly would be the funniest sh*t ever, and LeBron has already said he approves! I don’t ask for much, but if this happens I will never ask for anything ever again.

So who do we fancy from the Raptors/76ers match-up? Think there is a lot of pressure on Harden. Embild will get his regardless, but all eyes of the media on Harden.

Also - for anyone that listens to the Bill Simmons podcast, I howled laughing when they discussed Herb Jones and Bill goes "F*CK JALEN GREEN" out of basically nowhere. Houston media giving him an awful time over it (he meant f*ck Jalen Green as in his inclusion to the Rookie Team, not personally but Houston have taken it that way!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,002 ✭✭✭Carcharodon

Should be the sixers all day long but Iam not a fan of Harden, he tends to disappear when really needed but Embilds on a different level now.

I listen to that Podcast all the time and heard the **** Jalen Green joke, I love Bill Simmons, his variety of podcasts are a breath of fresh air compared to mainstream productions, I love how he is a fan first almost and commentator second, he comes across as honest and fair, obviously he has to play the game to a certain extent but he will call out players all the time, especially LeBron the past few seasons

I had a dream last night that the Bulls won game 1 against the Bucks. I'm afraid a dream is all it will be..

This is a really great game. Best and most competitive game I’ve seen in a long time.

Man, that would be sweet. If we make it out of the first round I'll be beaming!

    Nets and Celtics is cracking!

Holy **** ****, what an unreal ending to nets Celtics!!!

Playoffs baby, let’s go Dubs !!

But what a game right there, that’s proper good playoff basketball.

How good is Kyrie when on form, it would of been sickening to Celtic fans to lose to him like that but they they never gave up and made a lovely simple laynn the end

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

When Kyrie hit that 3 with 45 seconds to go I honestly thought that was game. That last play was broken basketball at its finest, great patience shown to make the final pass. I’d be gutted if I was a nets fan after that tbh. Great series ahead but the nets look a lot better than I expected tbh.

DeRozan miles off with two midrangers...

Shocked bulls have taken the lead going into the end of the 3rd!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,904 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Some atrocious shooting from both sides but the amount of bulls misses was cringeworthy.

Closer than i thought it would be.

Listening to Simmons now, that’s the first ever play off buzzer beater in Celtics history in over 300 games. Crazy.

That Marcus Smart pump fake was a thing of beauty.

Jimmy Butler on fire tonight. 45 points nearing the end of the game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,956 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Nets up by 10 at the half but from watching it you'd think they should be up by thirty. Celtic very poor on offense but very good on defense. Horford has been outstanding. Gotta think this one will completely flip in the second half now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,956 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Unbelievable defense from Boston, they are five down with a very poor offensive performance. If they click in the fourth quarter on offense they could win it by twenty.

Boston win it by seven. Got the offense working in the fourth. I've never seen Durant locked down as much as he was tonight.

Boston could go all the way with Williams due back to enhance that defense even more. Problem is their offense, if they can be a little more consistent there I think they'll go all the way.

Huge for the bulls to win tonight, Caruso is back to his best defensively. Great performance from vuc, and obviously DeRozan. They struggled as always with giannis, but what I loved was the response when they went from 18 up to just 3. Not sure the bucks were expecting that (especially after basically positioning themselves to play the bulls in the first round) so going to Chicago at 1-1 (and we were very close to knicking the first one), suddenly they're under a bit of pressure.

Still you'd think the bucks will recover and win it out (they were unlucky with injuries tonight, and Middleton is definitely out next day, not sure about portis, so that really will hamper them) but I'm excited about the next night whereas earlier there was, to be honest, no excitement in Chicago about this playoff, nobody was talking about it. Fun times.

Along with the Celtics games, it's been a fun opening round in the east so far.

Couldn't watch the Bulls live last night, just caught up with it, absolutely beaming. The defense and the offense got such a boost in comparison to game 1, cannot wait for game 3!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,704 ✭✭✭Corvo

Real uphill battle now obviously for Brooklyn but as said above, I’m still not totally convinced by the offense of Boston, even if the defence is absolutely elite.

Nets fixed a lot of issues (especially rebounding) from the first game, but I think it’s time they put the ball in Kyries hands instead of hoping for a miracle with Durant when he is surrounded. His handle seems to be letting him down / Boston capitalising on it.

Game was very foul heavy, was a poor watch.

Fair play to Boston though, some brilliant plays

I watched the whole game 2 last night as I couldn't stay up to watch it live. Brooklyn it seems have very little offence except "give it to KD or Kyrie and hope for the best". It is mind-boggling to me that an NBA team can have as little offensive structure and plays as they have. Durant is having to work so hard to even get the ball and they're just not using screens or set plays to get him free enough to compete at this level. Boston's effort and marking of Durant have been exceptional, but Brooklyn are making it easier to guard him than I would have expected. Even when he gets the ball, there's so little by way of movement away from the play that the other Boston players can help Durant's defender on almost every play - that simply should not happen at this level.

Nash is being seriously outcoached by Udoka, there seems to be very little by way of reaction to what is going on in front of him.

Brooklyn have the best player in the series, and arguably the second best, and are likely to lose given the hole they've dug themselves. Boston have been excellent, but really tis series should be 1-1 or even 0-2 to Brooklyn. Boston stole Game 1 for all their brilliance and Brooklyn lacked the killer instinct to kill them off in Game 2. And I'm saying all of this as a Boston fan.

I didn't think Boston could go all the way this year but given how this series i splaying out and the injuries elsewhere I'm starting to think they can.

Ben Simmons back for Monday's game.

Assuming he's healthy, how much of an impact do you see him having?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,904 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

That will be very interesting. Huge pressure on him but you couldn't be expecting much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,956 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Grizzlies looked poor for the best part of the first three quarters, just got going towards the end of the third. They came back from nearly 30 down with I think 4 minutes left in the third and won it by 9 I think in the end.

Bucks Bulls was so **** hard to watch :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,911 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

Yeah after two good performances in Milwaukee the bulls folded like a deck chair when the bucks made some small adjustments and the bulls looked more like the end of the regular season again. Would love to see more aggression when they're coming up the court, demar always likes to take a slower approach but it just gave the bucks big players to get set rather than take advantage of their slowness. They're up against it now to keep it competitive. Particularly annoying to see them let Allen of all people look like some kind of all star, the dirty little *.

Demar got shut down with constant double teams and Bucks camped the paint almost daring the others to shoot open 3's and that was the worst. The amount of missed open shots was awful where as Bucks, as well as other teams hit them like they were in practice. Actually felt bad for Demar, must be frustrating to have to carry the team.

I know Lavine has the knee injury but no way can he expect the max contract offer. I'm afraid Bucks have the gameplan down now and will do the exact same for the next 2 games.

Just watched the entire game 3 of the Boston - Nets series. Put very simply, Boston’s effort compared to that of the Nets is off the charts. Forget schemes and plays etc., it’s really that simple.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,137 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

The Nets are ready to unleash Ben Simmons apparently.

When you need a guy to come in and salvage your play off series who else could you possibly want?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,904 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Oooohh I thought we were wearing everything except black. Would be hilarious if he came in, for a triple double and made the game winning shot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

Really shocked to hear Simmons is injured again. It's just an amazing coincidence that he was all set to play Game 4 until Brooklyn went 3-0 down........

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,704 ✭✭✭Corvo

I just can't believe this whole saga is still going. I know he wants to avoid high pressure moments, but I thought at this stage he would have overcome these feelings. Obviously the injury sounds totally bogus and there were suspicions of that when Nash was constantly being asked about his availability and he didn't really have a sure answer.

I'd say they would love to shift him on in the summer but who would even consider a decent trade with that contract and his serious availability issues?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,137 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

OKC if the Nets sling on every draft pick they have into the deal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,704 ✭✭✭Corvo

Presti does like himself a few draft picks 😄

watched the Celtics game last night. Another good win, but all 4 games were close. I agree Simmons is a joke. The likes of him could have made a difference.
