after such a good solid start for the middle order to contribute absolutely nothing, jeeeez it’s Namibia ! Fair play they bowled well but some of the shots were suicide Sunday league efforts, not international cricket class..

126 is the target, woeful effort by Ireland . 11 boundaries from 124 balls bowled.... almost a boundary every two overs...that’s even shîte for a test never mind a t20 vs...Namibia.

going to be a solid and some effort needed with the ball here... Namibia will be buoyed by their performance with the ball and in the field...

lets hope we can turn it around, needing a couple of early wickets.

Umpire needs to giving that. Namibia had a plum one as well. To be fair to Adair, his mind was on his side injury. He was in visible pain. Looks like intercostal muscle which is not good.

Note to Craig Young... a half tracker isn’t a bouncer...it’s a short delivery saying ‘ please hit me for six or four ‘. But he bowls two and gets punished twice...then... Plumb lbw shout not reviewed followed by a review with the ball about a foot from the bat... 16 off Young ‘s third. Unlucky to clip the stump but not to dislodge the bails.

We are done... can’t only take two wickets in an international T20 on the back of an average batting total and expect to get a result.... Namibia 7 places below us on the ICC world T20 rankings but they have outperformed us.

Young brought back after conceding an average of 8 an over, all over the shop and gets smacked around again to finish with a 9.43 economy rate... what sort of captaincy is that ?

What sort of bowling is bowling almost half trackers outside off stump ? Full and straight not in the coaching manual anymore?

Namibia fully deserving winners.

Lost it with the bat, last ten overs especially. After a good powerplay they left it meander too long. Intent is a real thing in this format and there was none after Stirling. Bowlers did fine today. No fault on them, it was an impossible task.

It was a very one sided game in the end, Namibia have been plugging away at associate level for quite a few years, and deserve a change of fortune, their best player at the time, Raymond Van Schoor died in 2015, after collapsing on the field while batting in a really sad incident, that was the last time they made the news in some ways, this is a much happier occasion

Shambolic, Irish cricket lurches from one humiliation to another. A massive clean out is needed starting with the coach and captain. Ford's reign has seen some of Ireland's most embarrassing defeats.

Balbirnie has had an awful tournament. Doesn't review a plumb lbw then reviews an edge 12 inches from the bat😲. Bats as if he's playing for close of play.

O Brien and Singh should be put to pasture. There might not be obvious replacements but blood Doheny and White, they couldn't do worse. Use Delaney properly, he's not a number 4, he wouldn't get in Scotland's team never mind top 6. Have him at 8, and bowling some overs. The bowling unit is good, but get David Delaney in for Young. He might be struggle at first but wouldn't do worse than Young. No matter how well Young is bowling you know a half tracker isn't far away. Wieses two 6s off him killed the game.

Saddest part is today isn't a shock. What would Ireland give for an Erasmus coming in at 3/4.

CI have a choice now, accept we'll always be associate level, or go the passport route and invest money in salaries to tempt Aussies and Kiwis over

You could see how much it meant to players and supporters at the end... reminded me of Ireland making the breakthrough...nice to see but disappointed to be on the wrong side of that in a World Cup.

I don't disagree with much of this, but tbf Delany had a decent t20 effort in England batting in the top order for Glamorgan? ,,,,had a good knock v the Dutch and smashed the Bangla men at the top of the order. He is very raw, but Ireland don't have a million top order options so we need to invest in him as obviously Stirling can't play forever.

Simi can go, and I think Kevin will also after this although to be fair he did little wrong today.

Group 1 has a real group of death look about it. Not convinced by England without Archer. And Malan, Morgan and Livingston not getting runs heaps more pressure Buttler and Bairstow.

Group 2 looks more straightforward. India clear favourites to go through. Pakistan seem more fancied than NZ to join them. Foolish to underestimate them though. This group will be about seeing what Scotland and Namibia do. And Afghanistan too.

Balbirnie's response to the defeat was bizarre, 'I can't fault the guys'..who the hell do you fault when you only take two wickets in a run chase having scored a poor total of 125.

Group 1 is hard to call, West Indies are good but ageing, England are light without Stokes and Archer, and as you say a number of batsmen are out of form. Australia are poor at T20 and have been for a while but they might pull it out here.

Group 2 seems more straightforward, India and Pakistan seem certs but I wouldn't write NZ off.

Anybody watching South Africa vs Australia ? South Africans are in all sorts of trouble here 83/7 after 14.2 .... good bowling by Australia but fairly negative by SA... keen to punish bad deliveries but there haven’t been many and happy to run singles and twos... no risk no rewards..be lucky to score 110.

South Africa's strength is definitely their bowling. Quinton de Kock is the only x-factor batsman they have really, they rely so much on him.

Same is probably true for Australia as well. Warner and Maxwell the key to big totals for them.

I watched the start of the Australia v South Africa match, but turned it off when Quinten de Kock was dismissed, I don’t think any of them will be in at the death. West Indies have lost 2 early wickets, 9/2 from 3 overs

West Indies in bits, 31/4, slog or block tactics not working, and walking wicket Chris Gayle out for 13, he said he has no respect for Curtly Ambrose, after Ambrose questioned why he is in the side, Gayle is a narcissist, and he used to be the best T20 player in the world, but not for 3-4 years
