I've gone for alot of road wins there that I never like doing. Probably pushing it a bit thinking the Dolphins might do it at home against the Bills but I like that Dolphins D from last weeks game and the Bills were poor against the Steelers. Hoping the Pats can bounce back away to the Jets also. It's one thing being slow starters but losing back-to-back divisional games to start the season seems unthinkable.

Chiefs at Ravens should be a blast. Such a shame about the Ravens injuries this year, hoping they still make a game of it against Mahomes and co.

10-6 after week 1. This week sees the first match up of the 1st round rookie QBs except one has been given a tank and the other has to fight with a tooth pick. I can't see that as a match unless Wilson instantly turns into Mahomes. I think the Raiders injuries will hurt them a lot and the Bengals offensive line goes to pieces. Cowboys looked good but I went with the team with a defense.

It's been a decent game so far. 14-10 to the team with no nickname at halftime.

Barkley had a big run at one stage, Daniel Jones rushing a lot which is probably a better idea than him throwing. Taylor Heinicke has been solid. Terry McLaurin the star of the show in the first half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

    Some ending to that one!

Very enjoyable game, see-saw battle in the second half and it went right to the wire. Solid start to the gameweek.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,454 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Well the Giants shoot themselves in the foot. Dustin Hopkins misses the field goal to win it but there's an offside and he makes the second attempt to win it for Washington by 30-27.

Heinicke played well, McLaurin pretty incredible with 11 catches for 107 yards and a TD.

Awful from the Giants. Even before the offside on the missed FG they had given that game away with missed opportunities.

Watched until the middle of the second quarter when it was 7-7 but didn’t see the end and only looked at the final score this morning. An interesting score line and I’ll have to wait to see the second half tonight. 0-2 isn’t a good start for the giants and given what the head bottle washer John Mara said in the off season they need to turn it around fast. I’m going to assume that giants fans are hoping neither the cowboys or eagles win this weekend because that way it’ll keep them in the hunt in what was an awful division last year.

You always hope the Eagles and Cowboys lose lol

Giants fans hoping the eagles and cowboys lose and an eagles fan hoping the giants and cowboys lose. Sounds like things are back to normal and nobody seems to care about the UHT of the NFC east the Washington football team.

  • Most talented team in the division imo and I still couldn't care less about them

Fields looking very good but lots of small mistakes, two false starts. Still, exciting to watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,472 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Mark Sanchez with the best commentary you'll see all season after Burrow comes onto the field after throwing a pick 6.

"Knowing Joe the way we do. He's not afraid to miss any shots. He's not afraid to throw the next interception."

Burrow then throws another INT less than 2 seconds later.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,472 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Joe Burrow has thrown 3 INTs on his last 3 pass attempts incl. a pick 6. Crazy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,698 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Eagles lost a game that should have won and some baffling calls from the officials didn’t help.It seems the play clock is a suggestion not a hard and fast thing.

  • Posts: 13,688 ✭✭✭✭ Tucker Inexpensive Album

If Brady and the Buccs can stay any way healthy and if Mahomes and the Chiefs do likewise, they'll both saunter to the Super Bowl.

A dire standard through the two weeks so far.

Jesus the dolphins got thumped by the bills. Largest shut out since 1966 they said.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,106 ✭✭✭Christy42

Surprising. Expected a Bills win and a comfortable one after Tua was hurt but I would have thought Brisset would put some points on the board.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Great to have Mathieu back for the Chiefs, that's two interceptions already with a pick 6.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

9 different receivers for the Chiefs so far and we've barely seen Hill and Kelce, Robinson and Pringle with nice TDs. So many weapons for Mahomes to use.

This is turning into a shootout here. Great play by Lamar there

Next Raven to get caught holding should be hauled off and fucked outta the franchise.

Not even half a brain between them in that Ravens defence.

    Goodnight.

Mahomes' first ever pick in September I think, Ravens are right back in it. Great game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

The Ravens run is showing up the Chiefs D for being very average (a couple of exceptions aside like Mathieu).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

CEH fumble with the Chiefs in FG range and that should be the game.

4th and 1 on our own 40 yard line with a minute left.

Harbaugh on the sideline "Lamar, Lamar, do you wanna go for it?"

    Lamar gets the 1.

    Love it.

The defence needs some serious, serious work though.

Good to see a coach have the balls in that situation to do what he did. Happy it worked out for them.

On another note the Ravens pissed through that Chiefs D. Plenty of time to get things right but you'd be worried as a KC fan how easy it was in probably their biggest test before the playoffs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,085 ✭✭✭✭BonnieSituation

    Yup. Some season so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,454 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Something not quite right with the Chiefs, they are 1-1 but could easily have been 0-2 now.

Offense is awesome normally but this year it's like an engine that drives great but splutters a lot.

Defense needs a lot of work.

Raiders look really good so far this year. Broncos also 2-0. Chargers like the Chiefs are spluttering a bit. Division looks wide open.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,171 ✭✭✭✭Foxtrol

Officiating was poor going both directions on some calls. Officials are supposed to give it a second after the play clock hits zero but I agree the 49ers probably still didn't get that off in time to close out the game. That only balances the complete joke of a 'late hit' on Hurts that set the Eagles up to get back into the game - he wasn't even out of bounds when he was hit, if QBs are going to try to milk every yard on runs they have to accept they'll take the odd hit when they time getting out of bounds poorly.

Not sure I agree with the Eagles should have won - probably 'could have won' is more appropriate. Eagles DL supported by crows noise definitely messed up the 49ers offense initially but faded as the game went on, not sure their DL has the depth for that type of wrestling match. Their OL were good but I'm not sure if your coaches don't trust Hurts, they still have their training wheels on for him, or that's all their scheme is. A few big plays against the 49ers 3rd and 4th string CBs but aside from that they didn't get anything going until the 49ers started playing soft towards the end of the game.

I have definitely been more impressed by the Eagles the last two weeks than I expected to be coming into the season but it'll likely leave you in a no mans land when it comes to a rebuild

Two tough games to start the year against teams that like to run the ball and Spags' defense has struggled in those situations.

Re: the offense, I think not replacing Sammy Watkins will have an impact. Hill was locked down superbly by the Ravens and Robinson isn't good enough to be WR2, despite that TD. They got some production out of Pringle and Kelce was Kelce but with very little happening on the ground, the Watkins gap becomes more problematic imo.

As you say, it's going to be a very competitive division.
