Discovered Chemist Warehouse today, did a quick price check on family medicines, we currently pay €118 a month in various pills & potions. Exact same products are 46% less expensive from them Vs our local pharmacy.

Have given the local guys a chance to price match, b ut not too hopeful on it, one particular item alone was a third of what we currently pay, others more than 50% less.

Requires a drive up the M50, but totally doable if saving almost €60 a month.

Was in the Henry Street branch last week. Just in case anyone was expecting the level of cheapness of painkillers you can see in the UK, the cheapest I could see was 12 Pfizer, at €1.49. I believe this is the same price as Tesco.

I checked out the price of a few items in Chemist Warehouse on Henry Street last weekend. All items seemed to be slightly discounted from the RRP but most were available elsewhere for cheaper. I wasn't overly impressed. Huge range of items.

For example, Alforex was 30 EUR in Chemist Warehouse but you can get it for 24 EUR elsewhere.

I have not compared their prescription prices but I would be surprised if they price beat Pure Pharmacy.

Yeah, their beauty/cosmetic/vitamin/first aid/non prescription stuff is not particularly cheap at all. Will try them for my next prescription

They'll start ratcheting up, they are running the dispensary at a loss at the moment to drive in regulars. All well and good but if your local pharmacy closes its a problem for the area.

Relax with scaremongering there. You must work in a pharmacy. One industry that this country is not short on is pharmacies. There is close to 2,000 pharmacies in this country.

I live in an area that lost its pharmacy during covid. Me having to drive around the place to get meds for elderly neighbours was a PITA.

Most pharmacies deliver these days. There’s 6 within 2km of me and four of them will deliver, 2 free of charge.

Like a cross between Dealz and Boots.

Like many of these style of formats they scream very loudly on prices and many people just assume they are cheaper on everything, so you need eyes open and wits with you to get the value.

so pure have 24 paraceatomal for €1.50. Half the price. Their ads consistently refer to the RRP, which is a bit of a nonsense, but possibly likely in relation to many local pharmacies. I'd be much more interested in them comparing against their competitors.

was in the store in Dublin and I could not see the bargains must things I would call the normal prices,

the shop reminded me of a shop I was in before in japon called don quijote, where the offers and discounts where so in your face however don quijote is something else ha, sex toys next to noodles mad place also sold designer hand bags, bikes you name it also had proper discounts in it on say medical stuff

They have these kind of stores in the UK and are super cheap like really really cheap I always stock up when away pre Covid. I was happy also to see this store in Dublin but thought the same as you it’s just the normal price.

I think healthmail accounts can only receive from other healthmail accounts (other pharmacies,doctors etc)

Healthmail is a HSE service, any block is going to be by them not Chemist Warehouse.

Quiet strange they list their healthmail address on site, as above only other healthmail email address will get through the block.

I had to actually ring the stores and inquire and order meds. The email is for doctors only apparently and you need to be on that portal. Bit odd that they list an email so !! Very good savings tbh.

Thanks, they responded to my message sent to that email with cost details. Bizarre that they post the wrong email address for consumers on their website.

Prices seem noticeably better than Healthwave, my previous favourite, who seem to have gone up considerably this year.

Had a wonder through this place. Just had a look at the toiletries and over the counter meds- didn’t notice any great bargain compared to the supermarkets or the likes of Boots. Didn’t buy anything
