Degiro - Trade execution time for buying and selling shares

Hi, I'm new to trading and was wondering how long does an execution of a trade take - from the point of when I click on buy button to buy shares?

For example robinhood shares...not that I am going to buy.

5 minutes? 10 minutes? or less... Would appreciate some experienced users advice.

It depends on how quickly the order can be filled. Time taken can range from instantaneous, to remaining unexecuted at the end of the day.

Depends on whether you are doing a market or limit order. It also depends on the stock/market I'd imagine (i.e. a lightly traded stock on a quiet market might take some time, but you should be avoiding these if you are new anyway). Assuming a big cap stock on a lively market:- on a market order, it is pretty instant, maybe a few seconds. On a limit order, you are obviously waiting until the limit is reached which could be seconds, minutes, hours, days or never!

They are required to execute it as soon as possibly, or as close to immediately as it can be transmitted.

If you submit a market order (or an order at a price that gets executed immediately) it should be filled instantly.
