Why would the guy at the back agree to fix the damage if he was the one cut in on?

    Sounds like bollocks.

So it's a personal injury claim and nothing to do with the damage to the car?

This happened me a couple of years ago ..... the guards even called my insurance company to say he was at the scene and that the other driver was fine it was nothing more than my car rolling into his at traffic lights and he would stand up in court and tell them the same if he needed to .... insurance still paid out €20'000

A man reading out a bill...line by line.

It is shocking but...the son isn't having to pay it? It's the insurance company...his cost of insurance will go sky high probably though to be fair

Outside of the personal inury claim you can't really negotiate the damage on a modern car without a professional seeing it, you have the likes of headlights costing €1500+, mirrors costing €1000, etc etc.
