PCR checks Dublin Airport - how rigorous ?

Hello Friends, I am visiting Ireland soon and see that Covid Certificat is not required but PCR test, yes. Does anyone have any idea how rigorous the checks are at the airport. Here official true PCR documents cost 150 Fr. Thank you in advance.

I ask myself how it is possible they can be rigorous. Do they telephone test centre ? Not possible for everyone. Do you know or just think (or maybe just hope without accurate informations) ?

you have to have proof of a negative pcr test to enter country.

There are strict penalties for falsifying documents. Don't think of doing it.

You will need to quarantine in a hotel at your expense c 2 k euro if paperwork not correct, is that not big enough penalty? Covid certificate will be accepted from 19th July.

There are stories of very long Qs at DUB arrivals. Stuff is checked. The Irish army wait there to take the non compliant to hotel prison ( circa €2k cost ).

Do not expect any sense or reason behind the CV-19 regulations in this country

Hi OP. I flew back I to Ireland yesterday. Had my Pcr test and location tracker receipt on phone. Neither were checked by the airline. On arrival to Dublin, 4 of us went to immigration officer, he checked passports and asked had we had negative tests. Had a quick look at the negative part and waved us on. No questions asked, no army anywhere, certainly no Gardai. Went quick and smooth.

There have been reports f people being turned back at boarding gates for not having valid PCR results. They are checked again at immigration.

Maybe to rich Irish like you this is small money that can be burnt for no reason. Antigen test is free and Ireland is one of only countries not accepting it. Why ?

I travelled back on Sunday. My PCR Certificate and Passenger Locator Form was checked before boarding and I saw at least one person not being allowed to board. Both were also quite thoroughly checked at immigration.

They of course do not know 100% if the Certificate is real but I would anyone wanting to travel wants to have a PCR test to assure the safety of others. Anyone not wanting to do this should perhaps not travel.

Because they are doing no real check they have to make big imagined fine that no one is paying and no one is believing (except maybe ones like you).

I travelled from Italy 2 weeks ago and my daughter from the Netherlands this week, we were both checked getting on the planes abroad and again in Dublin.

Hi. Yes, thanks, I know. We have that here during 3 weeks now. It is great success. Nightclubs reopened like before Covid. I am not vaccinated (don’t like idea). I get antigen test + cert (free with validity of 48 hours) on Fridays when I want to go out. Was hoping PCR « letter » is ok for going to Ireland. Wanted to know if they ring pharmacy to check letter of if they just look at it.

Are you Irish,john francis and having a larf? Antigen test is not recognised here.150 SFR is cheap for a PCR test if you're avin 1.With all dem vaults in zurich I'm sure you'll find a "valid" cert somewhere.Gud luck.You never know how things will have changed in August.

Not sure how they check but fakes have been detected, if you think the €150 cost for PCR test is steep how about a €2000 - €2500 fine plus approx €2000 for two weeks mandatory hotel quarantine plus a criminal conviction.
