On the home page of Mobile site just click view all and change it to view following.

The mobile site seems to be using a default Vanilla theme at the moment I'd expect it will be re-skined with a more familiar boards theme in the near future.

Missed that. But would have been very surprised if the site hosting had actually been moved off shore, it wouldn't make sense from a performance perspective never mind any GDPR issues. It's not like vBulletin were Irish either, I believe they are US based.

To follow F&F on the mobile version go to society and culture using the breadcrumbs at the top of the screen, then beside F&F click the cog and follow. F&F will then be on the categories page and F&F threads on the discussions tab when you change the view to following instead of all

Can't find a way to do it on the desktop version

Maybe in time when they have the site sorted they will light up/turn green to show when you are online?

Hating the new site so far, can’t find any of the stuff I usually follow and finding it impossible to navigate, hopefully things will improve and we are not stuck with it like this

I'm not getting email notifications. Also, before I could use boards.ie with the Noscript addon in Firefox - now even if I temporarily let a bunch of scripts run -- the functionality is still unworkable. 😕

I find this new boards horrible. Hopefully they will bring it back nearer to how it used to be, but until then I won't be dropping in nearly as often

If you are using a mobile phone, use the three dots at the top right to switch to desktop version, it will look more familiar until we get used to the new look. I have to select the desktop option every time as it is not a toggle switch.

I see the navigation pathway below the comment box is present. Allows you to step back to the main page easily without having to go back to the top of the page.

I would mainly have accessed boards on the phone, but its too frustrating to use now... Not worth the hassle...

What site are you referring to DBK?

Hit the 3 dots at the top right of your mobile screen to access the old version with desktop site option. You have to select every time you access the new boards

So here we are more or less a week since the new site went live. I don't like it and I'm having severe difficulties blocking the ad's which slow down my internet speed. It's not a problem for people living in the major urban areas with excellent internet connection but it is for me.

Unfortunately there isn't near as much activity/comments on F&F as there used to be which is alarming. I hope this new Boards/F&F survives cause it'd be an awful shame to loose that knowledge/experience from so many experienced farmers.

Mobile is a disaster. Its much slower. On mobile its much more cumbersome to do anything. I said I leave it a week to see how it worked out before I commented.

    Mobile is a f@@king disaster.

Putting something like that (bold print forget about editing) on mobile is not possible even at home on you phone. Ya the desktop version works ok but when I make a cup of tea back on the farm for my sandwich I can no longer interact with boards. New site is slow and cumbersome on mobile.............it f@@king unuseable in plain English.

Too much functionality is hidden, its impossible to navigate, using desktop on a mobile version is sh1te print is too small. All these new posts indication and announcement on every thread is a f@@king annoying. As well categories opening fully and not having drop down boxes means it along f@@king scroll to S&C.

To Ere is human to totally f@@kup it takes an IT Consultant and he has done it again

I'd love to be a fly on the wall of the Boards canteen.....

All I can say is that a lot of work is going on behind the scenes. Under pressure.

It's seems to me it's going to take a while for things to approximate normal. Although, I don't think it will go back to the previous normality- the underlying software seems to be very different and I think this is the nub of the problem.

I don’t doubt that you’re right but it’s too little too late I think. This is the first time I’ve been on here in 2 or 3 days and there’s very few new posts or threads.

There must have been very little work done before the update by everybody in the Boards canteen because there is no way that any of this new update was reviewed beforehand. It’s just not possible that anybody could have viewed it and thought it was an improvement on what was already there.

There should be a lot of worried heads in the canteen as there’s surely jobs at threat after this mess and the reduced visitor numbers which will lead to reduced advertising revenue.

Having a site down for a week and then to have an unuseable mobile platform is some f@@kup. As you said advertising revenue will fall off very fast and revenue will suffer. It a bit like dealing with moderation across the platform it varies but trying to appeal above a moderator's is a waste of time and effort. While the moderation here is fairly fair and equitable there is a few categories where it leaves a lot to be desired. Only a few weeks ago I was having a debate with a moderator he replies and then closes the discussion as it was in his opinion outside the bounds of the thread .....after a 10+ post debate.

It seems to me he main concern was to make advertising more pronounced on the site with out considering the functionality for users. As well I suspect that most testing was on desktops not on mobile hence the cockup in mobile.

Are there any sort of post count/visits to be seen ??

id say it’s fallen off a Cliff.

as much as I’ve tried it just doesn’t feel intuitive to use

only one real improvement and that’s on how to stick up a photo.

would agree with poster above that said to br down for a week and have this at the end is quite shocking, one wonders what sort of revenue clause was built into the agreement for changeover, revenue must be hurting badly.
