I was at the matches and when buying a program I was told that the camoige insisted on their own program and they were all sold out so you couldn't even get one If you wanted it obviously didn't arrange to have enough printed

The camogie association is a terribly run organisation i remember being at a camogie semi final or all Ireland final a few years ago in Croke park and all the programs were sold out before the game

So I can only imagine how well the kk camogie board is run

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,281 ✭✭✭Marrooned

ye have to agree with you on the programs. The Camogie board seem to be always looking for a dig out and never want to help themselves an opportunity missed to make a few bob.I thought the strong wind would win it for the Boro in the second half but the opposite was the case the ball fell short with the wind three times and three goals were scored.

just on another thing “lob it in” what do you mean by the forum being dominated does that mean we contribute more , well then you would want to get typing .

Conditions ruined the games yesterday and all players made untypical errors trying to cope. Piltown played the conditions best of the four and well deserved their win. Likewise,Lisdowney much the better balanced team and probably should have won by more. Aidan Tallis is an exceptional goalie and the two wing backs were best outfield for them. Michael Carey was understan dably targeted by Lisdowney, very closely marked and drawn away from the centre. When he came to grips with this he was outstanding and along with his cousin Killian and Paddy Langton almost dragged Young Irelands over the line.

Can't see Lisdowney staying up next year, quality at the intermediate level has really dropped. Not what it used to be.

Couldn't agree with the 1st sentence, the inital attack from Hamas at that music festival last October was an awful atrocity but Netehyanu should be in front of Hague Tribunal for what's gone on over the last 12 months. Fair enough on the 2nd.

The Gowran half back line were the weak line for a lot of the match imo. Walsh and Langton were caught for pace and Carey's hurling was sluggish. It took the subs to come in and push Young Irelands on. The young half back Conlon and Killian Carey were excellent. Lisdowney had a bit too much pace for the Gowran backs.

There was only 400 programmes there for the senior , i was told.

There was a very big crowd , especially from Piltown, so i dont think they expected that many ?

And wouldnt most events being held rather run out of something than have lots left over ?

That they way most things that cant be calculated 1005 correctly are done .

Great to see the Boro beat. The tactics that they employed on Katie Power AGAIN were scandalous, pulling and dragging her around the place. and their carry on on the sideline.

Not to mention some of their supporters in the stand behind the 'dugouts' ….

Looking at new forwards for next year that could make the step up here are some that impressed me:

Cathal Beirne (Glenmore), Stephen Donelly (Thomastown), Paul cody (Clara) and Dennis Walsh (Dunnamaggin) but I think these are already on the training panel.

From the senior championship I think Fionan mackessy (O Loughlins), Luke Connellan (Thomastown) and Oisin Knox (Mullinavat) were the best.

From the Intermediate championship Brian Kavanagh (Lisdowney), Ted Drea (Gorwan) and Eoghan O Neill (Carrickshock) were the standouts who aren't on the senior panel.

While from Junior Emmet Landy (Windgap), James Maher (Freshford) and Darragh Queally (Emeralds) were the best I seen.

Any word on Brookville ? Usually insightful this time of year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 142 ✭✭neverbet

Gowran half back line scored 4 pts from play same as the 6 starting forwards and 3 subs. Michael Walsh suffered a serious knee injury in the first half and should have been subbed much earlier. The other three were outstanding in the second half. Hard to see the logic of your argument other than for Paul Murphy, Paddy Deegan and Conor Fogarty in the past we now substitute Michael Carey for your misplaced ire.Sad really.

I was going to post something similar but couldn’t be bothered, you’re spot on.

ye Brian Kavanagh impressed me alright as did the three junior players, but you know yourself they all would fade away after getting a 10 minute run with the seniors, another man Sean Purcell has filled out into a massive man but maybe a bit slow? Also I was wondering about Brookville too?

Is this the gaa taking back control of the coverage of games.clubber will surely be curtailed by this as 18 year olds can now play adult games. https://www.benchwarmers.ie/veo-gaa-hurling-gaelic-football/278218/

Yes, been going on for weeks.

You can use Camcorders or dlr camers to record games (with permission from opposition)
I think thats even more of a 'risk' , as anyone can record a game ….

If its about 'gdpr' (those f**king 4 letters are a f**king curse on a lot of things - and used to stop loads of things) , i dont understand - Veo AI doesnt know the players names/addresses, and only those involved analysts/coaches/club sec have their emails added for the account, and/or to have the vid sent to them. So wheres the risk ?
the AI in hurling is just used to follow the ball , and it can pick out wides or goals - but that is hit or miss .In soccer it can pick out frees, goalkicks, goals, free kicks etc….

Is it the Associations want payment, or a cut of the money going to Veo from clubs using their cameras.

Word is that it will be allowed next year ?……
Probably have to pay a fee to Gaa/Camogie /LGFA to record matches …

I think they can't be happy with over 60 matches being covered by clubber most weekends. And anyone with a dodgy box can access them for free .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,143 ✭✭✭✭greenspurs

Theres a contract between GAA and Clubber to cover hurling?

The County final was the first Camogie match they have shown live?

While there is merit to GDPR, the whole thing has gone way over the top. You can't go for a shite now without signing some sort of a form.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 525 ✭✭✭kilkennyboy

They is still issue of u18s being streamed. Which is a nonsense but that's why the are restrictions on veo.

But if you are using a camcorder, you just need agreement from the other team, even if theres u18s playing.

'Streamed' as you say is different though, as most use of Veo cams are recording for analysis, not for live streaming games. ( although you can live stream with them also)

And the thing is , no one can tell clubs with Veo the root cause/reason exactly what the issue is.

Just the letters 'gdpr' being used as the 'cover all things' reason….

I think I read somewhere that the recordings are stored in the "cloud" and there's a potential risk there….but not sure

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,143 ✭✭✭✭greenspurs

    Yes, thats right.
But no one can say what is wrong with that ? Whats the gdpr issue with that?

What's people predictions for this weekends Senior County Final

    Thomastown by 4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 270 ✭✭KK36

OLG to win by 3 in a lower scoring game that expected. OLG have shown over the years that they can get it spot on defensively. The match ups will be interesting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 421 ✭✭droppingball

Think OLG can win it anyway they want but they will know Thomastown will want it more open so OLG will bring them to the trenches to win and make sure of it.

Thomastown to give it a right go though, as a Ttown man feel like the pressure is all on OLG and that is not ingest, we have achieved so much more than we thought we could. We smell blood but think OLG might be step too far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,603 ✭✭✭Village87

I'm afraid the loss of Galway in goal swings it in OLG favour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 132 ✭✭jonniegoogle

Not sure but would veo have control over all recordings and if they were "hacked", what would happen??

    OLG by 5-10

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,281 ✭✭✭Marrooned

    Thomastown by 1 pt.
