Where's everyone buying parts since Brexit?

    Hi all,

Where's everyone sourcing parts from since Brexit?

    Micksgarage? winparts? Eurocarparts?

My mechanic sourced shocks, not sure where yet, for an 06 diesel CRV but they wouldn't fit. I suspect they were 02-04 but I won't know til Monday.

Thoughts on good experiences sourcing in Ireland and UK?

I use Micksgarage a lot but I have a query in with them re their stock as they seem to show 2 front shocks of the same side, with no opposite. Also 2 of the same brand but different price. Different stock numbers too. That may be my mechanic's issue. He had difficulty with the connection.

Reluctant to put in shocks from a breaker. CR has done 230k miles so deserves shocks all round. Passenger side started to leak badly a fortnight ago.

Wonder should I replace springs also? Plan to push this car on to 20 years old. The tax doesn't bother me.

Most mechanics just use the local motor factors. Aside from getting fairly hefty discounts, it saves them a giant ballache if the parts are wrong or faulty, you just bring it back to the motor factor and let them fix it.

Thanks but should have expanded that mechanic can't source the correct ones. I doubt if he sourced them from the local motor factor. That's unlikely. Big independent operation. More than likely delivered to him.

Anyone recommend where they're buying online lately since Brexit?

Mister-auto. French based company with comparative prices to Micksgarage but a much larger selection and EU based. Delivery is a little longer, but then again I've been waiting up to 6 days for stuff from Micksgarage so no biggie.

Same here using them for years and never had a problem and they are way cheaper.

I recently purchased brake discs from Winparts and had no issues. I alternate between micks garage, mister-auto and Winparts to see who I get the better deal from. Sometimes micksgarage is a bit dearer but when you factor in the shipping it works out cheaper.

Local motor factors, discount, parts are either in stock or can get got the same day, if parts are wrong it's alot less hassle. If I need something for an old car or something odd ball then I'll use winparts or sometimes ebay depending on the part

Anybody found a decent 4x4 web site in France/Germany/Spain. I've used NS 4x4 here in Louth a bit since brexit, but really missing the UK suppliers. I might have to look up the Northern Ireland second or third cousins on facebook:cool:.

Have used Mister auto too and they are way cheaper from time to time for some parts like kyb shocks etc, but often local factors are same price or cheaper.

Typically auto factors down in south near the border give great prices and I know mechanics in mayo paying trade price and pay same or more than I pay in Louth. It varies depending on the part so shopping around is required.

Don't you just submit a return from your winparts account, print off the invoice and post it back to them
