Fairly sure it touched his studs, should get the assist.

Given sky haven't provided a conclusive angle would mean that the VAR lads just assumed it did.

Goal stands because VAR believe Bruno touched it - it will be given to him regardless i feel.

Even if VAR ****ed up I don't think that guarantees it will be a Bruno assist.

Guessing the fellas who are adamant he didn't touch it don't have Bruno in their team:pac:

No, but there’s a high possibility it would be given the benefit of the doubt in that direction if they’re unable to conclusively say.

I have Bruno captain and I can see it clearly touches his studs... clearly.

But FPL are overruling the VAR here....pity they can run the actual football too

Something happened in a City game last year where KDB had an assist taken off him cause some other player was convinced that he touched it between KDB's cross and another player putting it in the net. KDB didn't argue against it (even though at a later point he said he was a bit miffed about it).

Same could happen here if they ask Bruno after the game if he touched it and he confirms he did.

The only other situation that i can think of that's similar was years ago when Terry was awarded a goal even though the TV camera's clearly showed that he didn't touch the ball - officially he "touched" the ball so it was his goal.

There's a close up shot and it seems quite clear he didn't touch it. VAR were seemed to take it for granted he touched it

He has to say he touched it. It should be offside if he didn't touch it. Admitting he never touched it would be admitting the goal shouldn't have stood. Won't see a footballer do that these days.

Have watched the videos and don’t think it was definitive either way.

I don't think it's "clear." There is no angle that shows if it could have hit the back of his studs from what i've seen.

I agree though that he is more likely not to have touched it than touched it though.

Isn't it Okta who do the assists and FPL use that ? He'll probably get it in that case

I just spotted Meslier was rested. F**ksake playing with 10 men again.

There's been a weird amount of goalkeeper rotation the past couple of weeks. I don't remember it happening as much in previous seasons in gameweeks 36 and 37.

I suggested last week when Guaita was benched for Butland, that managers with nothing left to play for might give some players a run out especially in the game away from home, or players who are retiring/leaving in summer etc. second choice Goalkeepers are the one position that rarely gets game time so maybe that's why.

Like wouldn't at all be surprised to see Lee Grant start for United next week if he's fit as he's supposedly leaving them. Tom Heaton is also leaving Villa so he might see gave time.

It's kind of ironic that Mendy who I got rid of for Meslier last gameweek is probably going to start this gameweek.

Heaton won’t while Emi is chasing our clean sheet record.

I wish these managers knew the consequences of their actions on us FPL players!

Wonder why the assist is taking so long to confirm. It’s still on TBC.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,817 ✭✭✭bantee

100% no touch for that assist, if its given its ridiculous

Yep agreed. Would be farcical if it's given to Fernandes.

It's given to DDG on the Website though?

They are probably trying to figure out what to do - if the official line is that they can't determine if Bruno didn't touch the ball, then the assist probably goes to Bruno.

Ball changes course very slightly in the last replay Sky showed. Think he touched it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,764 ✭✭✭Thepoet85

Its given on site, thought they gave it to DDG?
