    4 I think:

    1/. Kawaski KH250 (3 pot 2 stroke). Good fun.
2/. Yamaha TDR250. Great fun. It was mint and would have been worth a lot by now had I kept it.
3/. Aprilia Pegaso 650. Better than you'd think.
4/. Suzuki SFV650. Not great looking but quite capable.

9 in total for me since I started in 1996:

    1996 Suzuki AP50
1998 Peugeot Speedfight 100cc (very rare at the time, I believe only 8 were imported new)
2000 Yamaha Majesty 125cc (terribly unreliable, got rid within a year)
2001 Piaggio X9 125cc (best scooter I had, comfy and quiet. I rode this from Dublin to Galway a couple of times)
    2003 Suzuki Burgman 125cc
    1996 Honda Nighthawk 250cc
2000 Honda Pan European 1100cc (regretted selling it)
2008 Suzuki Burgman 650cc (regretted buying it)
2001 Honda Pan European 1100cc (replaced the one above.... I will not be selling it.....)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,544 ✭✭✭XsApollo

    1992 Honda CBR 250RR
Bought a helmet and went into the shop and bought the bike. Wouldn’t let me drive it home seeing as I had never ridden a bike before.
Looked back at that after a few months and thanked him.
Delivered to my house and spent a few weeks pottering around outside my house on it before going on the road.

    1988 Suzuki Gsxr 750 Slingshot
Beautiful bike always regret getting rid of that.

    1992 Suzuki Gsxr 750
Water cooled engine and a heap of junk compared to its predecessor.
2 engines and a cracked frame later, got rid.

    1994 Honda VFR 400
Cracker of a bike and a head Turner and sounded amazing, engine was tuned by some dude I never heard of before, but you could tell it was special.

    1998 Yamaha R1
Loved that, great bike and the one I enjoyed the most.

    2004 Suzuki Gsxr 750
Got this after about 8 years off bikes.
Never really got the feeling I had back when I had my R1.
Didn’t ride it enough and thought better of it.
Not a bike you want to be weekend riding once a month.

Have the itch again to get another.
    Hopefully this year or next.

Doesn't seem fair to have had all top quality kit. You should be made to restore a honda vf500 and have the chocolate cam shafts crumble beneath you as you reach a no mobile signal zone. Or a year on an rg250 gamma, keeping spark plugs in every pocket of all your clothes until you wreck the washing machine with a BR9ES. Maybe you could buy an Italian bike next to restore equilibrium.
