Considerably cheaper on amazon considering you dont have to pay VAT.

Every time a Gillette thread is posted the manbabies come out. Sorry an ad hurt your feelings.

Amazon have these now and again, seems to dip in and out of stock at different prices, both 4 pack and 8.

I’m still waiting for my free razor.
    Three years now.
I’m not buying Gilette products until it arrives.
    I have principles.

I'm not buying Gillette because of all the times I was conned by buying Gillette.

Why have Amazon started putting the 'import fee deposit' of £4.20 on these if they are under £20?

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gillette-Fusion-ProGlide-Razor-Blades/dp/B01BKOHN86/

Very similar but with no 'import fee deposit:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00R10ZUWU/

Went and ordered with the second link and only costs £16.67 when checking out.

Get yourself a DE razor. You'd get 100 Gilette blades for €25. I only buy blades every few years.

My grandfather used them he was certainly clean shaven:pac: Are they hard to use? I'd be afraid I'd cut myself to flitters:D Looking on shaving.ie their cartridge blades look to be much better value than Gillette etc.

lots of their other items are cheap and I was told these are too

    https://www.inishpharmacy.com/p/gillette-mach-3-blades-4-pack/401020

in Donegal so no vat issues. I have used them lots of times, very speedy delivery.

How is everyone avoiding delivery and import duty charges? Every amazon link I tried is showing the import charge and delivery.

No delivery charge if you have Amazon Prime. So if the item is under £20 or €22 they deduct UK Vat and don’t apply Irish VAT

Did my usual trick of signing up for a new account & free prime trial with new virtual revolut to avail of free Prime delivery. Are Amazon offering next day delivery in Ireland now? I've not used them at all since Brexit but it said I qualify for next day delivery & blades will be delivered tomorrow by 8pm.

I chose the 19.99GBP 8 pack Fusion Pro blades sold & fulfilled by Amazon SARL. Cost 19.49e on Revolut.

That’s some trick alright. Spending over 6€ more than was pointed out 2 posts up. Way to go. Fusion pro vs fusion?

I tried this tactic for all of about 2 months, my findings were other blades are sh!te, other shaving foam is sh!te, I couldn't adjust to the utter rubbish quality of everything against the brand, switched back in sort of disgust :o

I'll say it takes a bit of getting used to :pac: You'll be fine though after a while once you get your technique down.

The blades are great value. You'd get 4 of 5 shaves per blade so a pack of 100 blades will go a long way. Switching to them really cut down my shaving bill.

Shaving.ie is a great website, lots of interesting shaving gear on there.

The purpose of marketing is to purpose of advertising is to inform the consumers about their product and convince customers that a company's services or products are the best. it mightn't work, and might have the opposite impact for some purchasers. In this particular case it did put some purchasers off the product.

But hey, if it's blatant virtue signalling impressed some of you, I'm happy for you :D

Get yourself a safety razor, pack of blades, soap, smelly from shaving.ie.

If I order early in the week it arrives Friday. Saves a ton on those over priced, over marketed schtick.

The ad was what? 2-3 years ago and still posting about it in 'Bargain Alert' threads, the real debating forum for sure. The same types that'd throw out stuff like 'snowflake', virtue signalling (check) or have the letters W, O, K, E (check) worn out angrily on their keyboard are still getting in little hissy fits over an ad that didn't even say what they pretend it said.

Must have 'Gillette' on alerts here to get triggered.

Best thing i did was go safety razor thanks to suggestions via here

    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin//showthread.php?t=2058052458

I didnt pay silly money, still using up my old cans of gilette etc gel, then so far looking at soap stick (using your hands to lather is just as good, so dont HAVE to get a brush) and still using blades I got and sample blade pack

    https://connaughtshaving.com/rrment.html

    https://connaughtshaving.com/popular.html

Palmolive soap stick was about E3 in some chemist, boots do one as well

A bargain isn't really your opinion though, it's based on what you can buy something for today compared to normal.

    Suggest you unfiollow the thread.

Not if it's a crap product. I'd put Gillette in the same category as a discount store razor,so not a bargain even at half the price.

I got The Solimo Razor from amazon

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amazon-Brand-Solimo-Blade-Refills/dp/B07D85SP14/ref=sxts_sxwds-bia-wc-rsf1_0?crid=3N6WDOVSQF51S&cv_ct_cx=solimo+razor&dchild=1&keywords=solimo+razor&pd_rd_i=B07D85SP14&pd_rd_r=c0fa6603-5941-45be-96b4-a544704bca65&pd_rd_w=6yBvF&pd_rd_wg=p1ktI&pf_rd_p=0907528d-e69c-42de-9df8-628d56a339fb&pf_rd_r=D4HRFXNXVZF2AJKBY5F5&psc=1&qid=1615537552&sprefix=solimo+%2Caps%2C167&sr=1-1-f188f9fa-0157-48f5-a7ad-8e0892dbeeeb

And to be honest I find it gives a much better shave than any Gilette i've used it cleans easier under the water

The trimming tool on the back is not the best I find it hurts my delicate skin god love me

But the blades really last I shave most days and got the guts of two months from one of the blades

Might give those a run out sometime. Normally use a mix of Wilkinson Sword and the electric shaver. Get a few months shaving once or twice per week or so.

Yes, in some cases. Since January i've ordered maybe 50 items.
Only 1 arrived next day and it was the only one that said next day. I've had a few arrive 2 days later but the rest within a week.

They'd be a bargain to me too only I can't remove the import duty when buying through Amazon, I don't have prime if that's the problem.

That's the problem. Without Prime, you pay for shipping. Shipping then brings you over the threshold.

Most of the bargains in here would be dependant on the user having Prime.
I have a student account which costs £3.99 (€4.67 per month through Revolut).

From memory about €22 (confirm on Revenue).
But you don't worry about it on Amazon. They will remove it automatically. So if you see something, add it to basket and see of the VAT is removed. some items have no VAT etc so wont be discounted further.

Some tolls I bought last month for example.
