Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Perhaps that's what current GoBus coaches will receive as an interim livery?

The new Citylink white based livery that you post in the following post looks like a GoBus livery but with CityLink colours and branding, I wonder if that is going to be used as an interim livery, since from what I have heard they are still going to run two different routes on the Dublin to Galway run with different route numbers under the GoBus and CityLink banner. I think we all know why that is. But it makes a mockery of it if they get rid of the GoBus brand completely but still continue to use the hold company and license to run services under it.

As for the CCPC well the DAA did offer to make some concessions in order to allow the deal to go through, which was to give approx one third of the parking spaces over to another third party and also 10% of the market for car parking at Dublin Airport is apparently already with other providers, but I don't know where that actually is.

But the Dublin to Galway situation was always going to end like this, yes, Aircoach were extremely foolish and simply were a massive help to CityLink by jumping in like that before the CCPC ruling, but if we had people who knew the industry and the way it works in the CCPC then they'd still not allow it to go through, as some of us could see this happening here from day one.

Upon looking it up, it is literally just the goBus livery with yellow accents instead of red (and the different name of course) 😅

Yes, though the Cork route already has an interim livery, that is what the red and blue one is. Did they ever roll that out on the Galway route?

It doesn't really make sense in Cork to got from the old GoBus livery, to the current nice interim livery, only to go back to the old GoBus livery, but with yellow accents now!

Also the above picture shows dual axel coaches, while the Cork route is 100% tri-axles and a different style of coach.

Maybe just their social media people having a bit of fun or just didn't know what coach/livery is on the Cork route!

The weird thing is, there also seems to be a new more modern swishy yellow and blue Citylink livery in the same style as the Cork GoBus interim one and the Rugby team one and seemingly they are up for an award for these liveries. So why switch to a new version of an old livery. Just odd.

BTW While I'm at it, it is silly that the name on the coach doesn't include the website. the GoBus name on the side is "gobus.ie", which is smart, Citylink don't seem to do that, seems a missed opportunity, make it "Citylink.ie" on the side.

Isn't Citylink a franchise operated by Callinan's but owned by Comfort DelGro? They have it Scotland I think Stagecoach run it over there. So they'd probably have to get approval in order to change the livery.

Comfort DelGro own it but subbed out the operations to Callinan’s.

The phasing out of GoBus is now entering it's final stages.

The Citylink website has removed all logos of GoBus from the site apart from one in the footer and the first Gobus vehicles on the Galway to Dublin route are being painted in a transitional livery.

The transitional livery sees the white livery with red and blue graphics of GoBus being replaced with the CityLink colours for the graphics and the Citylink Logo. Believe there is no plans to relivery Citylink vehicles in this colour scheme, but merely this is a transitional livery for current vehicles in the Gobus fleet operating under the Gobus license.

What a boring livery compared to the GoBus one to Cork! A step backwards.

What is weird, is that it is a version of the old GoBus livery with Citylink colours, rather then the new Citylink livery which looks very different!

Well with Bus Eireann/TFI running around with blue and yellow coaches, it's good to differentiate on the road.

The TFI livery is mostly green with some yellow on the front, like most Dublin Bus have today. The blue and yellow was only used for a short time and is being phased out for the green and yellow when they are repainted on the regular schedule.

Most of the Citylink services seem to be staying Blue/Yellow (they have a swishy new modern version of it). It is just the Galway GoBus coaches that seem to be switching to this white and blue livery.

There is only two buses left in GoBus livery now, the rest are in the interim livery that has been described earlier. Apparently they are vinyls so it's an easy enough job, the livery is essentially the same as the GoBus one but with different colours and different operator name.

The Dublin to Cork Service vehicles are also getting a slight livery change as well, removing all mention of GoBus.ie with the general livery staying the same.

Also the EirEagle livery is also being phased out, there's just one vehicle left in this.

i am the only 1 who feels it a bad passenger decision having 1 company to have a whole corridor to its self with very little change of any competition

Blame the CCPC and Aircoach for being naive. They're both created this environment.

But saying that the NTA really should be able to do something about it or address the loophole that's being used.
