There is an extension to the leases that were due to expire this year, so it might be a cause of few leases coming up on the yearly catalogue.
Having said that I belive there are always a few lets that don't get leased out every year. There's normally two runs of the lease competition the first one around the end of beginning of the first and secound quarters if the year and a follow up one around the beginning of the last quarter. This secound one picks up any let's that didn't go in the or weren't honoured first round.
Keep an eye on the Coilte site.

Coilte have said that anyone who paid for a lease last year and couldn't go will have that lease for this year, without fee.
Coillte to Waive Licence Fees for many Hunters
Coillte has published updated information on licence fees for the coming season and also details of a new online licensing system that they are currently developing.

The key headline for many will be the fact that clients who paid licence fees for last year's hunting season (2020/2021) but were unable to hunt due to Covid-19 restrictions will have these fees rolled over for the coming season (2021/2022).

This information also gives an overview of the new online licencing system which will be developed over the coming months to engage with and manage hunting in the future.

Country Sports Ireland will continue to liaise with Coillte on members behalf and we will of course, keep members update on any significant developments.
For further on how fees and licences will be managed by Coillte for the 2021/2022 season and the new online licencing system is available using the link below:
It will cut down on the number of leases but to what extent, who knows.

We run, here on Boards, a lease thread in the for sale section each year for each season so keep an eye on it for any lease coming up. Here is last years one.

A new one will be coming in the next week, with the end of this season.

The mention of the Coilte online application is positive...

If we get this, and also an online application system for the NP&W licence, that would be good progress.

    Thanks,

    G.
