    Of course it is.

So the Garda are trained medical personnel?
Templemore has really upped it's game lately if that's the case.

Ahh Jaysus, his personal experience dealing with Covid as a GP. He didn't give her name and apparently as one posted said, he had permission to tell the story.

Factual information from people tasked with dealing the pandemic is like kryptonite in here.

    No, they enforce the law.

In this instance specifically public health legislation.

I'm surprised this is news to you.

I'll agree with that bit alright, his delivery in general wasn't great, but I really don't think he attacked her per se.

whether he got her permission or not he should know better than to single someone out like that especially considering the frame of mind the woman was in would likely affect her judgment

    No it isn't.

The vast majority of people agree with the public health measures.

The policing put in place is there to try and prevent people being injured and the spread of a disease that may just prolong lock down.

    Again, Goodies and Baddies!

    It's boring.

Do you think that people should be allowed to protest tomorrow?

    Maybe give them some time.

    It's 2021.

People can protest in numerous ways, they don't have to gather.

it didn't take 4-5 days for a jihad to be declared when the students at limerick had a party in the street and it didn't take 4-5 days for the them to react to the protests a few weeks ago i wonder what's different this time that simon harris isn't jumping out of bed and Micheal isn't putting on his cross face

The vast majority seem to think this is all free.

Neither of them are GPs given their personal experience of dealing with Covid.

I don't really see what is confusing you TBH.

Also the guards issued 80 fines and arrested 2 people.

I imagine if it was a non traveler funeral, the mood music on here towards the guards would be a lot different.

It's incredible the same people that wanted all those students shamed and cancelled for life a few weeks ago, are the same people that will be out protesting for the imaginary threat on women.

These imbeciles love playing the victim,.

why does it have to be gp's other than you just being pedantic? the point I'm making is that there wasn't the level of outrage at the funeral in longford as there was at a protest which according to you had the same amount of people there. i recall after the protest a hse official said the government should investigate to see if anyone protesting was on the PUP implying they should have it docked or taken off them as punishment

Things will really start to get interesting when the North reopens and we're still left here hoping the 5km limit might be extended to 10km.

I'd say the government will come under big pressure by that point. Up until now at least the two jurisdictions have kind of worked in parallel, but this will be the first time that the North could and probably will be miles ahead of us.

Philip Nolan should not have made that comment about visiting dying family members in hospital. No human being should have to die alone

Absolutely disgusting comments. I was reeling listening to this. It’s a new level of pomposity.

Instead of issuing an investigation into why this lady got infected in the 1st place (hcws are supposed to be all vaccinated and infection spread in hospitals under control) he castigates her and her family and uses her as a human flogging mule and scape goat for Government inaction on hospital infections.
Jesus Christ ... the family just list their brother.

Heartless , detached and sociopathic are apt descriptions for this robot and his like.

Did they attack the guards with bottles and fireworks?

There is an answer there for you if you apply a small bit of critical thinking.

But again, you are going bananas at a GP talking about a woman attending a funeral, but at the same time you want other people who attended a funeral castigated.

    Make up your mind.

what about the students at limerick? they didn't attack the guards so apply your critical thinking away on that one also somehow i don't think there was 300 people in the funeral the gp was discussing

There was arrests and fines just like the funeral.

What exactly do you want the police to do here?

    Do they really?

No mainstream media outlet would have the balls to put up a poll on this with simple questions like "Should we move to level 4/3 now", "Should the 5km limit be lifted now"

Super, now we're getting somewhere. So they enforce the law, nothing to do with being responsible for spreading of disease. I mean, this is remedial stuff.

    Yes lad.

They also enforce things like road traffic legislation.

You know drink and driving and such.

They are not doing that to be meanies, they are doing it to protect the health and well being of the public.

How this is news, is very bizarre.

Will there be that much of a time lag though? If we're penciled in to relax things to a similar extent a couple of weeks later I doubt it'll be a massive issue.
