    Sky Sports arena from 19:00

Support fight is Kiko Martinez v Zelfa Barrett at 130 lbs

Then Josh Warrington makes a defence of his 126 lbs belt vs Mauricio Lara

Actually, Warrington fight not for IBF belt. He vacated it last month

    Why did Warrington vacate?

Quite impressed with Dalton Smith there.

I've been hearing good things about him and I know he was a very good amateur. He looks very sharp and accurate. Lovely variety of punch and seems to have a very good sense of distance. I'll be keeping an eye on him.

Kiko only 34...been around years!!! Looks older..

Only a kid when he banjoed Dunne in 2007...

Sky were very much underplaying his work in the last round. Looks like he could take Barrett out here.

Kiko rolling back the years here. Great to see.

Hope the judges are fair ..winning nearly every round for me.

Haven't been scoring it but surely Kiko well ahead? 7-3?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57,372 ✭✭✭✭walshb

    I have always admired Kiko

    Always just comes to fight

The commentator has it level? I won't be asking him to put up any shelves for me, that's for sure.

Yeah that's the worry for me. Could be another Ritson v Vasquez. Three British judges..

Adam Smith...can't be said he isn't a company man.

Talking up barret now so when the dodgy scores come in it won't look so bad....kiko is gonna get shafted here...

I put on the fight a while ago and was wondering was it the same guy, Cant believe he is still going but now realise how young he was then. That was a really disappointing night by the way. I still remember it !

    I don't follow boxing closely so I didn't know.

Naw, that's not Adam Smith. I'm not sure who it is.

Are the presenters preparing us for a draw result? Surely Kiko has this by a country mile.

Zero argument for Barrett winning that. Cards will be interesting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,430 ✭✭✭megadodge

Well Barrett is odds-on on the exchanges.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,589 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Didn't Kiko win that handily? no?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,692 ✭✭✭A Shaved Duck?

Those cards are an absolute disgrace

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,430 ✭✭✭megadodge

    Holy Sh!t !!!!

    118-111 (x2) !!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 57,372 ✭✭✭✭walshb

    I didn’t score it

But thought Kiko overall deserved it..

OK I was all wrong it seems

That is just disgusting. Absolute cheating.

Even Canelo would have got a split decision in that fight ffs.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,415 ✭✭✭generalgerry

It's almost like professional wrestling at this stage. The result is pre-determined.

Absolute joke, I have to say

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,692 ✭✭✭A Shaved Duck?

Hearn now talking out of both sides of his mouth...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭Morrison J

Absolute disgrace. The UK is by far the worst place to come as an away fighter and get a result.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,321 ✭✭✭sham69

Shocking , thought Kiko had it

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,415 ✭✭✭generalgerry

And who paid them to give those scorecards Eddie? He really must think that we are all idiots.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,021 ✭✭✭squinn2912

Pathetic scoring at least Eddie is telling the truth about it. I thought Barrett won the last 4 convincingly but I’m struggling to see what else he won before that. Don King line there let’s do it again. Even Barrett is embarrassed by that

Sad to see such blatant corruption as. Even Hearn lambasting the judges

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,021 ✭✭✭squinn2912

Look at the marking on their faces alone! This is destroying the sport as a spectacle. Booth is insufferable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,086 ✭✭✭duffman13

Ridiculous, the irony of the commentators not calling it for what it is given some of the claims of robbery and how fighting Klitschko in Germany was always in an impossible task etc. Kiko robbed

I thought Barrett won the 1st, and the 5th (I think I've the right round), and the 9th, and either the 10th or 11th, but Kiko won the rest.

There was quite a few close rounds and also a lot of rounds clearly for Kiko.
Eddie and the commentators speaking honestly, a round or two in it at most (if you scored for Barrett) or else for Kiko (and potentially wide if you give him the closer rounds ).

    118-111 is ridiculous !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,178 ✭✭✭carltonleon

Bizarre interviews I thought , he didn’t really let any of the 3 finish their points

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 108 ✭✭Fran has a bone

Hearn calling it out, probably to help sell 2nd fight. Eddie I'm sure knows all 3 judges very well for many years!

The interviews were a mess they didn’t know what to do. Why didn’t the idiot let Hearn bull**** away another minute than have dead noise. So amateur looking.

    Hearn is a disgrace..

He should stick to promoting and quit slating professional judges that he uses for fights to pretend to the public that he gives a fook

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 108 ✭✭Fran has a bone

I thought the peaky blinder himself, Mack the Knife, might have taken a back seat on Sky commentary with everything that is happening lately.

There's a man who knows where the bodies are buried, literally

So here is the MTK / DAZN boxing news for this week:

Daniel Kinahan is still not involved in crime and Zelpha Barrett has won his fight with Kiko Martinez.

And I've just won the lottery.

    WOW!! Warrington looks fooked

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,415 ✭✭✭generalgerry

I had the last round a 10-8 for Warrington (by tonight's judging).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,153 ✭✭✭✭normanoffside

Some comeback from Warrington in the 5th.
I think the ref should have stopped it in the 4th though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,021 ✭✭✭squinn2912

He’s up against it. Lara needs to be careful though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,086 ✭✭✭duffman13

    WOW!! Warrington looks fooked

Some count he got, he was in an awful state

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,153 ✭✭✭✭normanoffside

I don't like how Warrington is twitching his neck in this round. Something looks off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,589 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Should the ref have stopped that earlier? It looked very close

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,153 ✭✭✭✭normanoffside

He would have stopped Lara. That's for sure

    He's probably a bit concussed.
He was shook to his boots and has taken some heavy shots since.

    He's coping impressively well considering.

IMAGINE! A co-commentator who is there to score the fight “I haven’t been scoring it”
